"Is it him?" Ye Ranran guessed after Luo Qi hung up the phone.
"Yes. He says he wants to see me." Luo Qi’s expression was mysterious, like both laughing and crying.
"Cry if you want to."
Yet, despite the growing sadness on Luo Qi’s face, no tears fell. "No, I won’t cry."
"I have arranged to meet him at a private room in the restaurant downstairs. Will you please accompany me?" Luo Qi implored, her face full of pleading.
Ye Ranran felt she couldn’t refuse her, so she just nodded her head.
After waiting half an hour, the room door was pushed open and a man and a woman entered from outside.
"Chen Chen, what the hell are you doing?" Luo Qi suddenly stood up.
"Don’t you understand what I mean?" Chen Chen pulled the woman into his arms, positioning her in front of Luo Qi.
"So this is the woman you said that’s been pestering you." The woman sneered at Luo Qi.
"I heard that you eat and live at his expense and then pester him endlessly. How shameless can one person be?" Despite Luo Qi’s trembling lips, the woman continued to talk.
"Enough." Ye Ranran couldn’t bear to listen any longer.
"How can there be so many sluts in this world? You take people’s money, their innocence, then cheat on them, and you’re still brazen about it." Ye Ranran said softly, her voice as gentle as the spring breeze in March, yet as chilling as the winter moon in the ears.
Chen Chen squinted at Ye Ranran, a hint of hesitation flashed in his eyes. "I’d advise you not to interfere with things that don’t concern you."
"I’d advise you not to be too arrogant."
Chen Chen couldn’t be bothered with Ye Ranran, he turned back and looked at Luo Qi. "So what? Feeling guilty? That’s why you brought a helper?"
"Who’s feeling guilty?" She hadn’t done anything wrong, why should she feel guilty?
"Luo Qi, what did you tell my parents?"
So that’s why he wanted to look for her. Luo Qi took a small disc from her purse. "Nothing much, I just showed them evidence of your infidelity, quite an array of positions, I must say."
Chen Chen’s face darkened, he reached out to grab the disc in Luo Qi’s hand. "I didn’t expect this from you, Luo Qi. You’ve got some tricks up your sleeve."
"How could I deal with a shameless beast like you without employing some tactics?"
There was a loud slap, and a palm print appeared on Luo Qi’s face.
Luo Qi froze, Chen Chen reached out to grab the disc in her hand. Ye Ranran was quicker and snatched it.
Chen Chen didn’t expect the sudden intervention, he glared at Ye Ranran. "Give it to me."
"You know what really annoys me? Men who hit women. Now, apologize nicely to me." Ye Ranran toyed with the disc in her hand.
"I told you to mind your own business," Chen Chen articulated each word clearly.
"The Chen Family has quite a reputation, don’t they? I wonder what will happen if the contents of this disc were to make the news." Ye Ranran said, her eyebrows arched in amusement.
"I said, give it to me." Chen Chen, now furious, tried to snatch it.
Two bodyguards stepped in front of Ye Ranran.
Ye Ranran looked at him impassively. "Now, either apologize to me or get out. But if you leave, this disc will be on the front pages of every major media outlet tomorrow. It should be quite interesting."
"Oh right, my sister just got divorced a while ago, why don’t you match up with her?" Ye Ranran suggested, feigning concern.
"Ye Ranran." Ye Tianjio came in through the door.
Ye Ranran looked at her in surprise. "My dear sister, you’re here. Come, come, I want to introduce you to this debauched gentleman."
Ye Tianjio was so angry that she was about to lose her mind, but she couldn’t say a single word.
"What? Too good for him? The Ye Family is bankrupt now, what kind of guy can you possibly end up with? I haven’t found out how much the Chen Family is worth, but if you’re frugal and quit your boy toy habit, I think you should be able to make ends meet."
Ye Tianjio didn’t expect Ye Ranran to be this caustic after not seeing her for a while.
