A single sentence smoothed over all the unease in Ye Ranran’s heart.
“I’m not as fragile as you think.”
This statement allowed Ye Ranran to hold on through three rounds of insistent probing.
Afterward, she called for a halt, panting heavily.
“Weren’t you not frail?” Jun Mochan asked, sporting a smug, devilish grin.
The next morning, Ye Ranran was rudely woken up by a phone call.
“Hello.” She answered the phone without bothering to glance at the screen.
“Ye Ranran, I didn’t think you could be so cruel.
Do you even have a shred of humanity left?”
Being cursed at so early in the morning by someone who plagiarized her work left her livid.
Feeling agitated, Ye Ranran retorted, “Zhao Yue Li, what are you raving about this early in the morning?
If you forgot to take your medicine, I suggest you take it now, or I won’t hesitate to sic a mad dog on you.”
Frustrated, Zhao Yue Li replied, “Ye Ranran, don’t get cocky just because you’ve latched onto Jun Mochan.
Even a cornered dog will jump over a wall when pushed too far.
If you don’t leave room for me to survive, I won’t leave any room for you either.”
Just as Ye Ranran was about to respond, the line went dead.
“Nutcase,” Ye Ranran mumbled to herself.
“What happened?” Jun Mochan emerged from the bathroom, refreshed.
His bathrobe hung loosely over his body, his robust chest partially exposed and his torso littered with suspicious scratches.
Ye Ranran’s face immediately turned pink.
Last night Jun Mochan had pounced on her as soon as he got out of the shower, not stopping until midnight.
The memories from last night flashed through her mind, causing Ye Ranran’s face to turn beet red.
Taking one look at her evasive gaze and flushed face, Jun Mochan knew what she was thinking.
About to tease her a bit, her phone suddenly rang again.
“Who keeps calling you this early?”
Ye Ranran digit at the screen and saw the word ‘Director,’ her expression souring.
Without a word, Jun Mochan took the phone from her and held it up to his ear.
“Ranran, I know we did wrong, but shouldn’t we discuss matters in a civil manner?
Isn’t what you’re doing a little too overboard?”
“The things I did were done without my wife’s knowledge.
Also, jump to conclusions?
Wait till the contract termination arrives then we’ll talk about conclusions.”
Jun Mochan ended the call after his curt reply.
Finally sensing something awry, Ye Ranran asked, “What did you do?”
“I promised that whoever bullies you would pay the price.”
His domineering declaration was typical of Jun Mochan.
Ye Ranran, however, didn’t find this disagreeable, instead, it stirred sweetness in her heart.
“At least let me know what you did to them?”
Jun Mochan glanced at her, saying mysteriously, “Perhaps you should get dressed first.”
Finally realizing her predicament, Ye Ranran clutched at the sheets desperately.
She had been naked all along, and her hands had unwittingly slipped, revealing a lot more than she had intended.
“Jerk, taking advantage of me again.”
She threw a pillow at him, quickly snagging the blanket to cover herself.
“Hehe, is there any part of your body that I haven’t touched?” Jun Mochan caught the pillow, chuckling as he headed for the dressing room.
Ye Ranran picked up a set of clothes off the floor and rushed into the bathroom.
Once she was decently dressed, she logged into her QQ account on her computer.
Her company’s group chat on QQ was in chaos.
But before she could read the messages, several people had already started private chats with her.
“Aiyah, oh my, Ranran, you’re finally online.
Have you seen the video yet?” As soon as Xiao Zhang noticed Ye Ranran online, he buzzed her screen, pouring out a stream of words.
Just as Ye Ranran was about to open the video, her mouse was shaken out of position by the incessant buzzing.
