In a short while, the document arrived in Jun Mochan’s hands.
Looking at the signature on it, Jun Mochan tugged at the corner of his lips, seeming to smile. However, the smile was so faint that it was nearly imperceptible.
Securing the document and giving out some reminders, Jun Mochan went to find Ye Ranran.
By the time he arrived, Ye Ranran had already lain down.
He used the room card, opened the door, and stepped onto the carpet without making a sound.
The heavy curtains blocked out the light from outside, and for a moment, Jun Mochan’s vision was obscured, causing him to stand still.
Suddenly, a teapot came hurling down, and Ye Ranran’s frightened and annoyed voice rang out, "Bold thief, daring to rob me!"
Jun Mochan sighed slightly, tilted his head, grabbed Ye Ranran’s wrist, and in a low voice said, "Don’t be afraid, it’s me."
The familiar voice made Ye Ranran stop struggling, and Jun Mochan took the opportunity to turn on the light.
Under the light, Ye Ranran saw his gentle face as clear as jade. There was a big red mark on his fair forehead, which was undoubtedly caused by her earlier throw.
Ye Ranran quickly dropped the kettle, her face full of regret, "Does it hurt? I’m sorry, I didn’t know it was you."
She held out her hand hesitantly. Seeing her regretful face, Jun Mochan grabbed her hand, "It’s okay, a little injury doesn’t matter to a grown man like me."
"What if you were disfigured?" Ye Ranran was still worried.
Jun Mochan’s face bore a smile, "I didn’t expect that Ranran would care so much about my appearance."
"You still have the mood to joke, even if I don’t care about your looks, I can’t bear to see you get hurt because of me." Ye Ranran rolled her eyes at him," You wait here, I’ll get you some ice to apply."
Jun Mochan grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms.
His chin rested on her head, and he relaxed, smelling the fragrance of her hair: "It’s okay, the swelling will go down tomorrow."
Ye Ranran’s chin rested on Jun Mochan’s chest, listening to his heartbeat. She was reluctant to leave his arms.
Eventually, she asked, "Have you taken a bath yet?"
No, I rushed over as soon as I finished dealing with things." Jun Mochan released her a bit, "I didn’t expect to wake you up."
"You should at least call me before you came." Ye Ranran grumbled.
Jun Mochan felt a bit awkward: "I mainly wanted to surprise you."
It ended up being more of a fright.
Ye Ranran lay in bed, her cheeks slightly flushed listening to the sound of the water running in the bathroom. She remembered their past encounters in such situations, and she nervously buried her face in the covers.
When Jun Mochan came out, he saw Ye Ranran wrapped up like a cocoon, her head buried in the pillow.
He chuckled, pulled her out, and wrapped her in his arms, "We haven’t seen each other for a while, are you shy now?"
He held her gently, not making any further moves.
"No." Ye Ranran closed her eyes, her lashes quivering.
Jun Mochan turned off the light, kept her in his arms and patted her back, "It’s late now, let’s sleep."
He was actually not going to touch her. Ye Ranran had an uneasy feeling. She intentionally moved in Jun Mochan’s arms, trying to stoke the fire.
Jun Mochan tightened his arm around her, holding her firmly, "Stop moving about, let’s sleep."
Ye Ranran sat up, turned on the light with a snap, her bright eyes were fixed on Jun Mochan.
