"I’ll go investigate immediately." Wen Zhi headed upstairs.
"Wait, where is the youngest brother?"
"He hasn’t returned. I don’t know where he has gone."
"Call him and ask him to come home. He should stay out of trouble during this period." Wen Jianfeng said seriously.
"Alright, I’ll call him back right now."
Just as Wen Zhi closed the door, the study door was burst open again. The newly replaced door of the recently renovated house made a loud sound under the strong force of the intruder.
Even Wen Jianfeng thought the door might break from the brunt of the force.
"Big brother, we’re in trouble." The third young master of the Wen Family stumbled in, his speech slightly slurred.
He had been out drinking with friends, arm in arm with his new girlfriend. He quickly sobered up upon seeing the explosive news.
"I know already. Look at the state of you! You’ve had too much to drink, go to your room immediately."
The younger Wen saw that Wen Jianfeng could still scold him so powerfully, and felt reassured that everything was alright.
Instantly, he felt drunk again.
"Alright, I’m out of here, out of here." He stumbled out of the study.
Wen Jianfeng, looking at his brother, felt tired but he didn’t have time to lament as he quickly made a phone call.
"The person’s phone is switched off. I cannot reach the person in charge. Should we try again tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow? The whole world knows by now. If you can’t reach them by phone, then go to their house, if they’re not there, go to their office." Wen Jianfeng roared.
"Secretary General, aren’t you putting people in a tough position? Besides, the world probably knows about it now; even if you manage to delete the post, it’s not going to make any difference. A warrant might have even been issued already."
Wen Jianfeng: "..." He hangs up the phone hastily.
He took a deep breath before dialing another number.
"Can the photos be deleted?" Going straight to the point without wasting time.
"Afraid not, those media outlets belong to J.C. If they dared to release it, it means they have Jun Mochan’s backing." The voice at the other end dropped a devastating piece of information.
"Clearly, Jun Mochan doesn’t want you and Chu Ji to team up, or perhaps he has already found out about your dealings with the Song Family, so he’s planning to make an example of you to warn the Song Family."
A shiver went through Wen Jianfeng, his eyes revealing a mix of fear and defiance.
"So, there’s really no other way?" he asked grittily.
"It’s not like there are no other options, it depends on whether the Song Family is willing to assist. But even if they can save you now, they can’t protect you forever."
"Jun Mochan is like a wolf. Anyone he focuses on never escapes." The other person’s hoarse voice, in the middle of the night, sounded like a hand reaching out from hell.
Its grasp was tight over one’s throat, making breathing difficult.
Wen Jianfeng knew that the person on the other end of the line wasn’t lying, because the person worked in the Bureau of Industry and Commerce, and knew everything about every major enterprise.
Obviously, Jun Mochan had allowed this person to leak this information to him. It seemed like a warning wrapped up in helpful information.
Wen Jianfeng couldn’t help himself; he angrily threw his phone onto the ground.
Wen Zhi burst in from outside, calling out before he even entered: "Big brother, bad news, bad news."
Wen Jianfeng had no more energy left to respond.
"Brother, Chu Ji has released the photos of you keeping a college girl."
