He meticulously inspected the batch of diamonds and ordered the lab personnel to examine them closely to determine what exactly was contained within them.
With everyone’s concerted efforts, it was quickly determined that they contained a harmful radioactive material.
The radioactivity of the substance was incredibly strong, and therefore, correlated to carcinogenic risks in humans.
Once the nature of the substance was identified, the investigation became much easier.
Before long, Jun Mochan discovered the material originated from a certain research institute.
Following this lead, Jun Mochan connected the dots that Ye Tianjing had recently built a close rapport with a professor from the institute.
"With such a serious suspicion, how can he dare to poison someone, has he lost his mind?" asked Ye Ranran, with a hint of a frown on her face.
"You don’t get it. The poison is available abroad and it is not rare. Most people would lack the capabilities to separate the substance from the diamonds, so it would be natural for them to assume the product is faulty."
He was on the verge of following this line of reasoning when, at the last moment, a sudden flash of insight made him rethink and ask for a re-examination.
And that’s when he found where the problem lay!
"Darling, you’re so smart. However, what does that have to do with you being here?" She asked.
This is not an affair busting situation. Why would he need to be in a hotel?
"We are here exactly for that – to bust an affair," Jun Mochan looked like he saw right through Ye Ranran and stated in a loud voice.
Ye Ranran’s calm facade was shattered, ripples of shock emanating from her eyes!
"Why would you personally need to get involved in an affair-busting activity?" There are plenty of people who could handle this on his behalf after a single command from him!
"I normally wouldn’t have, but who asked you to be here?"
He had already given the order and was on the way home when he got a call from his bodyguard.
She disappeared. He immediately scanned the list of auction guests and quickly zeroed in on Xia Shi and Wen Zhi.
Upon tracking down their whereabouts, he naturally discovered her location.
Coincidentally, Ye Tianjing and the professor were also staying at this hotel.
"Why is Chu Ji here?" Ye Ranran curiously asked.
"I don’t know," Jun Mochan, with a wrinkle in his brow replied. Among the involved parties, Chu Ji wasn’t on the list. Did his subordinates miss out on that?

Jun Mochan helped her straighten a collar, "Naturally, you should change your clothes first."
Twenty minutes later, Jun Mochan had someone bring a set of clothes that fit Ye Ranran perfectly!
After changing her clothes, they stealthily snuck into the room where Ye Tianjing was staying.
Ye Ranran looked around and didn’t notice anyone.
Just as she was about to ask Jun Mochan if they were in the wrong room, the sound of someone taking a shower came from the bathroom.
They hid first. Jun Mochan pulled Ye Ranran behind a cabinet.
"Why take a shower?" Ye Ranran whispered into Jun Mochan’s ear.
"Why can’t they shower?"
Is she pretending to not understand? Ye Ranran gave him a glance, "Two mature men having a conversation in private and need to take a shower? Don’t you think that’s strange?"
This could easily lead to some naive misunderstandings, right?
"Who told you they were here to talk?"
Isn’t the idea to catch them in the act? If they are not here to talk, then how can they be caught?
Moreover, two adult men sharing a room, not discussing business matters, could it be that they’re discussing...
"Are they romantically involved?"
"Does it seem strange?" Jun Mochan couldn’t help but to involve a hint of a smile as he saw Ye Ranran’s incredulous look.
