It had been so long since she last uttered that title; the moment she did, tears threatened to pool in her eyes.
After Mrs. Huo left, the door was pushed open again, and One stood in front of Ye Ranran’s bed.
Ye Ranran opened her eyes, saw him, and closed them once more.

"Hand it to me," Ye Ranran gestured to her phone on the table.
One obediently brought it and placed it in Ye Ranran’s hand.
She did not have the strength to hold it, and the phone slipped onto the floor.
"Hold it to my ear," Ye Ranran strained to turn her head.
One held the phone to her ear, and the chill of her skin spread to his fingertips.
Only then did he finally understand why she couldn’t even hold a cell phone.
"Did she die?" Chu Ji’s voice came from the other end of the phone.
