Accompanied by Ye Tianjiao, Ye Ranran arrived at the obstetrics department on the third floor.
Doctor Ah Chuan had already made arrangements with a specialist, and the hospital director himself stepped out to meet them.
Ye Ranran pushed Ye Tianjiao forward: "Please."
"No need to be formal, Madame Jun!" The doctor greeted her with a warm smile.
Gaining some courage with others around, Ye Tianjiao retorted, "I won’t go! You’re all in this together, wanting to harm me."
"Miss Ye, you’re mistaken. Madame Jun simply brought you here for routine checkups to monitor the fetus in your womb," the doctor explained.
"You’re talking nonsense!" Ye Tianjiao pushed him away. "I want to go home!"
The doctor then turned to Ye Ranran, seeming rather troubled.
Ranran, looking apologetic: "I’m sorry. Because she’s in the early stages of her pregnancy, her emotions are a bit unstable. It can’t be helped. She’s just overly worried about her baby."
Upon hearing this, the doctor’s face cleared, now realizing she must have some mild mental disturbances.
"Take Miss Ye inside," ordered the director.
"Thank you." Ye Ranran responded politely.
The director and the doctor couldn’t help but admire her. After all, there were rumors about Ye Tianjiao stealing Ye Ranran’s fiance and framing her. They never would have expected that Ranran would still manage to get her sister a doctor.
"Not everyone is capable of repaying evil with kindness."
As Ye Tianjiao was guided into the medical room by a nurse, she tried to push her away and escape, but the doctor quickly administered a sedative.
Ye Tianjiao collapsed limply.
"Put her on the bed!" ordered the doctor.
The nurse positioned Ye Tianjiao on the bed, and the doctor moved the medical instruments next to her.
The device scanned over Ye Tianjiao’s body and immediately displayed an image of a fetus roughly the size of a fist on the screen.
The doctor examined it for a moment and was about to smile, but then froze.
Rubbing his eyes in disbelief, he looked over the image again.
This time, he lost his calm. He took out a Doppler to listen for the baby’s heartbeat.
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
After five minutes of hesitation, he finally stepped out of the medical room, glancing worriedly at Ye Ranran.
Normally, he would have relayed this news through a nurse.
But this wasn’t an ordinary situation; he was facing Ye Ranran, the head of J.C.
If she became upset, she could potentially ruin him financially!
"Doctor, what’s wrong with my sister?" Ranran penciled in concern.
One looked at her appreciatively. She was quite a good actress!
Ranran’s anxious appearance left the doctor at a loss for words.
"Doctor, tell me honestly. Has something happened to my sister’s condition? That’s okay, I can handle it!" pleaded Ranran earnestly.
"Madame Jun, prepare yourself. Whatever I say, you must not become agitated." The doctor took a deep breath before slowly stating, "The child in Miss Ye’s womb—there’s no breathing!"
"What?!" Ye Ranran turned pale and almost lost her balance.
The doctor quickly steadied her, "I’m very sorry."
"What did you say?" A voice echoed from the end of the hallway.
Ye Tianjing strode over from the other end. Not sparing Ranran a glance, he grabbed the doctor by the collar, "What did you just say about my sister? Say it again!"
Ye Ranran slightly turned, the corner of her mouth curled up into a devious smile, her expression gleeful as a triumphant Devil itself.
