Ye Tianjing carried his mother into the ward. Watching the backs of the trio, a flash of envy passed through Ye Ranran’s eyes.
No matter what, Ye Tianjiao was fortunate, she had family who loved her dearly.
But what about her? The only person who had been kind to her was now nowhere to be found.
"Have you seen enough? If so, let’s go." One interrupted Ye Ranran’s thoughts.

Ye Ranran looked at the bloody mess within the frame, a faint smile in her eyes. Kind-hearted as she was, how could she not let her beloved sister take a final look at her own flesh and blood before leaving?
Otherwise she would feel guilty.
One instantly understood Ye Ranran’s intention. He attempted to take the frame from Ye Ranran’s hand: "I’ll help you take it in."
"No, I will deliver it myself." Ye Ranran insisted.
She needed to witness that wonderful scene unfold with her own eyes.
One did not push further, he just stayed in step with her, maintaining a not-too-close, not-too-far distance.
When Ye Ranran walked in, Ye Tianjiao had just awakened. The anesthesia had just worn off, leaving her eyes filled with bewilderment.
"Tianjiao, how are you feeling?" Ye Tianjing looked at her with concern.
Ye Tianjiao’s eyes finally started to focus. She made an effort to rise but, due to the residual effects of the anesthesia, she collapsed as soon as she lifted her upper body.
Her movement strained her stomach wound. The pain made her fear the worst: "Where is my child? Where is my baby?"
Just as Ye Tianjing was hesitating about how to break the news to her, Ye Ranran appeared.
She held up the frame in her hand, tilted it slightly so that Ye Tianjiao could see it more clearly. And then she pointed to the thing in the frame, telling Ye Tianjiao in clear sentences: "Looking for your baby? Here it is."
"Ah!" Ye Tianjiao screamed in horror, she buried her face in her hands and shoved herself under the blanket.
She absolutely refused to believe it. She believed her child was still safe and sound in her womb. It couldn’t be that bloody, terrifying thing.
However, Ye Ranran was not willing to let her go. Ye Tianjiao had almost driven her mad. Now it was time for her to taste the same torment.
She gave One a sign with her eyes. One pulled away the blanket from Ye Tianjiao with a slight tug.
He grabbed Ye Tianjiao’s chin, forcing her to turn her head. Ye Ranran moved closer to her: "Look carefully. This is your baby."
"Four months old, already somewhat formed. Looks like it might have been a boy, what a pity..." Her voice, laden with coldness, was like a chilling ghostly wind blowing up from the depths of hell.
It hovered around Ye Tianjiao, regardless of how much she struggled, she could not break free or escape from it.
"I beg you, please stop. I beg you," Ye Tianjiao entreated.
But how could she stop?
"I heard that a mother can feel her baby’s heartbeat. Could you tell when he was slowly dying? Did you feel cold then?"
Ye Ranran lowered her head, her eyes locked with Ye Tianjiao’s.
Up close, Ye Tianjiao saw Ye Ranran’s face, full of severity, more clearly.
Ye Tianjiao had never seen this version of Ye Ranran before. She was like a sharp, unsheathed sword, leaving no survivors wherever it passed.
