The assailants exchanged glances and promptly agreed.
With no hesitation, they turned the ship around and headed for the island.
Soon, they arrived at the island.
"Pretend to be feeling sick," Jun Mochan softly directed into Song Yue’s ear.
It was the first time he had drawn so close to her, his breath tickling her neck.
Song Yue’s heart throbbed wildly, threatening to leap out of her chest.
Seeing her dazed expression, Jun Mochan promptly kicked her leg.
"Ah!" Song Yue let out a loud cry as she fell to the ground.
"Are you okay? How are you feeling? Are you unwell?" Jun Mochan hurriedly helped Song Yue up, his voice fraught with concern and anxiety.
For no reason at all, why did he kick her? Song Yue was about to question him when she met Jun Mochan’s dangerous gaze, causing her to swallow her words.
"Yes, my stomach hurts. It hurts a lot," Song Yue said, clutching her abdomen.
"You haven’t eaten anything bad, have you?" Jun Mochan looked somewhat worried and reproachful.
Song Yue shot him a glare: "It’s not like I did it on purpose. I’m already in this state, and you can’t even offer me comfort."
"Alright, my bad. You stay here to rest, and I’ll take them. Is that okay?" Jun Mochan’s voice softened; there was even a hint of indulgence.
Just like how one would treat a lover.
Song Yue was taken aback and blushed, lowering her head timidly.
"I apologize for the inconvenience. My friend is feeling unwell and afraid she won’t be able to set foot onshore. Would it be okay if I guide you instead?"
The group huddled together and started murmuring from afar.
"Once I’ve tricked them onto the island, I’ll return here. Stay on the ship and do not venture anywhere else, understand?" Jun Mochan instructed softly.
Song Yue nodded: "I understand. Be careful."
"Just take care of yourself." No longer pretending, Jun Mochan’s voice lost its previous gentleness.
The pirates soon reached a consensus and agreed to Jun Mochan’s proposal.
A group of them then disembarked the ship.
