Jun Mochan hadn’t publicly disclosed his relationship with Ye Ranran yet, so the receptionist only knew Ranran was associated with Mochan in some way. Exactly what their relationship was, remained something of a mystery.
At any rate, given their close rapport, she categorically labeled them as lovers.
Ye Ranran nodded at her and then headed towards the president’s exclusive elevator, taking it up to the twelfth floor.
As soon as she exited the elevator, she ran into Ah Chuan.
"Madam." Ah Chuan instantly halted his hurried pace.
His flustered expression made Ye Ranran chuckle, "What’s the matter? Am I that scary?"
You’re not scary but the president is indeed. He had specifically sent me to pick you, insisting that I do so without letting you know.
However, these words were absolutely beyond what Ah Chuan dared to say. Wiping the sweat off his forehead, he retorted, "That was just a surprise. The president is in his office, let me take you there."
"I can go by myself. You can carry on with your tasks." Ye Ranran waved him off.
"I’ll attend to my work later. If I don’t accompany you now that I’ve seen you, the president will surely dock my bonus." Ah Chuan insisted.
As Ah Chuan had put it that way, Ye Ranran found no reason to refuse.
"The president has acquired S.Z Magazine. You can publish your works there whenever you wish," Ah Chuan abruptly stated.
Just as Ye Ranran was pondering over the implication of his words, Ah Chuan added, "The president truly cares for you, Madam. I hope you won’t let him down."
Taken aback by Ah Chuan’s sudden statements, Ye Ranran mused aloud, "Did Jun Mochan send you to test me?"
Seeing Ye Ranran’s expression growing cold, Ah Chuan’s scalp tingled.
If Jun Mochan discovered he’d been discussing such matters with her, he’d certainly make his life miserable.
"No, I just wanted you to know what the president has done for you," Ah Chuan defended himself.
"Don’t be nervous. I didn’t imply anything." Seeing the cold sweat on Ah Chuan’s forehead, Ye Ranran found his situation rather amusing.
Was she really that intimidating?
"Whether Jun Mochan enquired about it or not, since you’ve already brought it up, let me reiterate that as long as he doesn’t betray me, I won’t betray him either."
Jun Mochan was the glimmer of hope during her moments of despair, why would she ever give him up as long as he doesn’t fade out of her world?
"With your assurance Madam, I can be at peace now. Please, don’t disclose this to the president." Ah Chuan pleaded.
"Rest assured, I don’t have a big mouth."
Ah Chuan heaved a sigh of relief, wiping the cold sweat off his forehead.
In the meantime, they had reached the inner office. Upon seeing Ye Ranran, all of Jun Mochan’s secretaries collectively stood up to greet, "Good day, Madam."
Caught off guard by this formality, Ranran maintained her composure impeccably. She greeted them back with an invincible smile, "Hello, everyone."
"Madam, this way, please. The president is inside." Ah Chuan stopped at the door of Jun Mochan’s office.
He didn’t take the initiative to open the door for Ye Ranran, leading her to push the door open on her own.
Jun Mochan was bent over his desk, engrossed in his paperwork and didn’t look up.
Ye Ranran watched him engrossed in his work, hesitant to disturb him.
In reality, Jun Mochan was merely pretending to be serious as he awaited her approach. However, even after three minutes patience ran thin, as the person at the door seemed to have no intention of speaking.
Finally, unable to resist any further, he lifted his gaze, "What’s the matter?"
Upon seeing Ye Ranran, his eyes sparkled with genuine surprise and joy, "What brings you here?"
"Why? Am I not allowed here?" Ye Ranran approached him.
