From the lowliest street urchin to the mightiest archmage, everyone walks a path of growth. This progression is not random, but measured by the control, depth, and affinity one holds toward their essence — be it mana, spirit, or something... other.

These are the foundational stages of power growth:
Novice – The beginning. Individuals here can barely manipulate energy. Most commoners remain at this stage.
Apprentice – Learners who've awakened to their abilities. They can cast minor spells or use basic techniques.
Adept – A practiced fighter or mage with disciplined control. Adventurers and academy students often fall here.
Expert – Those who have begun to truly master their art. Their aura becomes dense and perceptible.
Elite – Rare individuals. Capable of high-tier magic or devastating physical prowess.

Only the dedicated break through to these stages. A title earned, not given.
Master – Feared and respected. Capable of warping the battlefield. Often leads guilds or armies.
Grandmaster – Power becomes symbolic. Each Grandmaster can challenge an entire squad alone.
Ascendant – Their very presence distorts the world. Known to bend the elements or walk the skies.
Mythic – A level bordering on legend. Few reach it, and even fewer live long after. Their power can erase cities.
Some individuals exist outside the rank system:
Cursed Ones – Victims of ancient magic. Their abilities may be unstable, powerful, or even forbidden.
Void-Touched – Beings aligned with unknown forces. Their power doesn't follow natural law.
Blessed/Vessels – Chosen by divine or ancestral entities. Often possess rare abilities.
Mana Orbs: Used in academies. Glow intensity corresponds to raw power. (Zane cracked one.)
Aura Signatures: Experts can sense rank through the "flavor" and weight of someone's aura.
Guild Appraisal Crystals: Official tools used by the Adventurer Guilds to issue ranks and missions.
There are other things but let's focus on these ones first
A higher rank does not always mean guaranteed victory. Technique, intelligence, and compatibility can flip any battle. A clever Adept might defeat a reckless Master — though the odds are slim.
Power is earned, not given.
