And there was no indication she intended to open it.
Li Xingwan reached out to open it. Inside was a western-style breakfast carefully prepared for Fu Chengzhou by the housekeeper, complete with steak and such.
He must have been very tired from dealing with business matters these past few days, not to mention that he didn’t rest even after accompanying her home.
Seeing that he had no intention of starting to eat, Li Xingwan picked up the knife and fork, meticulously cut the steak into pieces, and forked a piece to his mouth.
Fu Chengzhou opened his mouth and ate it.
She continued to feed him the rest, piece by piece, and Fu Chengzhou accepted each one without protest, holding her the entire time.
Until nearly all of the plate was finished.
"Do you want a bite?" Fu Chengzhou pushed the piece he was about to feed her to her mouth instead.
Li Xingwan looked at it, she had already eaten her fill on her way here, but this bite...
She opened her mouth and ate it.
Only then did Fu Chengzhou let go of her, though he only moved to pull a chair closer. "Stay with me at the office for a while."
It just so happened that Li Xingwan was free that morning. Her audition at Chen Ming’s production was scheduled for the afternoon.
Now she could stay in the office with Fu Chengzhou.

She looked over at him, watching him flip through one file after another with rapid, lazy yet precise, and refined attention, which made her gaze linger a little longer, slightly mesmerized.

"President Fu, Mrs. Fu, your coffee," a secretary brought in the coffee that Fu Chengzhou always drank abroad.
Li Xingwan couldn’t help but become curious, picking it up to take a sip.
This coffee was exceptionally smooth and rich. It was also available at home, in Fu Chengzhou’s study.
It was the kind that, after one cup, you could stay awake all night without a hint of sleepiness.
"Don’t drink too much," Fu Chengzhou reminded her from her side.
"Oh," Li Xingwan obediently took just a sip or two before setting the cup down. Fu Chengzhou also took a few sips.
She sat beside him, watching him work through documents. At first, Fu Chengzhou could concentrate, but later he turned around, intending to scoop Li Xingwan back into his arms.
Was she unaware that looking at a man with such eyes could lead to trouble?
Fortunately, Li Xingwan reacted quickly, standing up swiftly and walking towards the expansive floor-to-ceiling window. "I’ll go check out the view outside."
The secretary was still in their office, and watching them made her heart race.
And she nearly witnessed President Fu holding Li Xingwan in his arms.
Li Xingwan stood in front of the vast floor-to-ceiling window, looking down. From this angle, the view was somewhat dizzying.
After gazing out for a while, she turned towards the couch. She sat for a bit, then lay down.
Until Jiang Song’s call came through.
"Hurry up and come! The audition over at Teacher Chen’s is about to start. You’ll be just in time if you come now, don’t miss it," Jiang Song was already there, keeping an eye on the time for Li Xingwan.
"Alright! I’m on my way!" Li Xingwan responded, hung up the phone, and prepared to leave the Fu Group. "Mr. Fu, I’m going to the audition today."
Fu Chengzhou lifted his head to stop her, "Come here."
Li Xingwan walked towards him and met Fu Chengzhou’s gaze, burning with a mature and steady intensity.
It left her momentarily unresponsive.
Seeing her dazed expression, Fu Chengzhou stood up, his hands braced on the desk. "What, have you forgotten what was said that day?"
