The whole class sang praises for Su Yan.
The previous whispered discussions and mockery instantly vanished.
Yao Yufei, sitting at the back, flashed a trace of jealousy in her cold eyes.
Her hand clenched the pen tightly, the pressure turning her knuckles white.
It was as if she wanted to snap it in two.

With a tearing sound, the pen carved a deep gash into the paper.

The day’s lessons quickly ended, and most of the class had left.
Su Yan packed her things and sat there dutifully waiting.
Her desk mate noticed Su Yan hadn’t left yet and asked curiously,
"Huh? Why aren’t you leaving? Is your leg hurting? Do you need me to help you back?"
Su Yan shook her head,
"No, I’m waiting for someone."
The desk mate, having no further doubts, nodded,
"Then I’ll head off first."
"Mm,"
Su Yan replied.
After a short while, Jiang Ran appeared at the classroom door.
He walked in breezily.
By now, more than half of the class had left.
Also, because Jiang Ran had appeared multiple times in the class, it no longer caused such a stir.
He saw Su Yan obediently sitting there waiting.
A sharp smile curled at the corner of his lips.
With a lazy grin, he asked,
"All packed up?"
Su Yan nodded.
He picked up the white backpack beside him, one hand supporting Su Yan, and walked out with her.
Su Yan took out a piece of strawberry milk candy from her pocket, unwrapped it, and popped it into her mouth.
Jiang Ran looked down at her, smiling playfully,
"Why do you like eating candy so much?"
Su Yan licked her lips,
"When I have a headache, I just crave it."
Actually, she didn’t have this habit at first.
But because of Xiao Hua, she developed it.
Jiang Ran raised an eyebrow,
"Headache?"
Su Yan earnestly nodded,
"Thinking too much gives me a headache."
It’s much better now, but she often had headaches in the beginning.
While they were talking, a voice came from behind,

In a hurry, a boy came running over.
"Brother Jiang, it’s Fatty’s birthday today, and he’s treating us. Let’s go together."
The boy was enthusiastic.
