"Where is Alix going?" Grandma Zhang bent her to the front slightly and asked Yura.
"She wants to flip the tire for the prize." Yura answered with amusement in her voice.
"Why?" Zhang An in an unhappy voice for some reason asked.
"Won't she get hurt?" Grandpa Zhang asked, worry evident in his voice.
"Aunt is so strong, she is the strongest. Go aunt, go." Xiaobo was more than excited when he heard this.
He jumped up and clapped his hands, excitement very loud in his eyes and body. To him, as long as she won, he would have a reason to brag to his friends.
Yura got her phone out and dialed her son.
"What?" he responded curtly.
"Is that any way to speak to your mother?" Yura responded, equally curtly.
"Sorry mother, I had no idea that it was you, I apologize. Someone quoted the wrong figures in the document so the meeting is dragging on while we correct the error.
How can I be of help? Is Xiaobo injured? Do you need me to come over?" The pitch of his voice rose as anxiety clouded his mind.
"No, no," Yura answered quickly. "Xiaobo is fine, he is enjoying himself. It's your wife, she is participating in a tire flipping event so I thought you would want to watch. But if you are busy you don't need to."
Yura was expecting a stiff no or a hesitant yes, not silence which was the response. For a whole ten seconds, her son remained silent.
She knew that he was there however because she could hear him breathing.
"I am going to hung up and call back, a video call. If you want to watch just answer the call. Do not say anything else."
She had raised her son and she understood him quite well. Even when he was not talking, he was communicating.
It was a given that most of the fathers on the field did not think much of Alix's presence on the field. She was slender in size and her arms were like weak little twigs. She was not a threat to them.
"Oh, we have a mother in the contestants, wow, this is actually amazing." the female director of Shuhaha announced. "Let's give her a very big applause."
Other parents clapped and most even laughed. They could not wait to see her fail at the very beginning.
Alix stretched her arms and legs, acting as if she was a professional athlete preparing for her Olympic debut.
"Well, without any further delay, let the tire flipping begin at the sound of a whistle."
The whistle went off and Alix, as if she had possessed by something went into beast mode. With quickness, she bent down and flipped the tire over effortlessly.
One flip was followed by another, then another and another. She could hardly hear the voices of the other parents or the children who were screaming.
"Aunt, aunt Alix, aunt Alix, go, go go." Xiaobo was among those screaming children.
He was not the only one screaming, the Zhang elders, Yura and even Zhang An were caught up in excitement. Alix was ahead of the other parents. She was flipping the tire as if it weighed nothing at all.
They were not the only ones to be excited, other parents were thrilled to be witnesses to this abnormality.
A lot of questions and opinions were going through the crowd and some were even recording.
"How is she doing it?"
"Is she a soldier?"
"Her size doesn't match her strength at all."
"She is amazing, Xiaobo's aunt is really amazing."
"Is that a tire or a ball, how is she doing it with such ease?"
On the field, Alix made it past the finish line and she looked around. It hit her that she was the first parent to make it and she jumped up really high, flipping backwards two times.
"We have a winner, no, we have a little superwoman." The director announced.
Filled with unspeakable joy, Alix laughed and smiled, a few tears even came to her eyes as if she had just won something incredible.
She left the field, and run towards the stadium to find Xiaobo.
He too, surprisingly was running towards her.
"Aunt, aunt." he screamed.
They met half way, and Xiaobo launched himself into her arms. She caught him and embraced him tightly.
"You won." he screamed into her ears.
"I won." she shouted.
"Aunt you are so strong." he told her. "You flipped the tire over easily like boom and boom."
"Yes, I am the strongest." she told him.
She carried him back to the rest of the family which was sitting where she had left them.
"Mother-in-law, I won." she announced.
"Yes, congratulations." Yura told her.
She stood up and held her arms open wide, indicating that she wanted to hug Alix.
Alix smiled softly and allowed herself to be hugged.
"Congratulations." Yura told her again.
"Grandmother aunt is the best." Xiaobo who was involved in the hug because he was still in Alix's arms told Yura.
"No, I am the best." Yura joked, laughed and pinched Xiaobo's nose.
Alix put Xiaobo down because grandma Zhang looked like she was waiting for a hug as well.
Both elders gave her a brief hug and then she sat down.
Some of the parents who were close by congratulated her as well with smiles on their faces but disbelief in their eyes.
Zhang An who was not hugged rolled her eyes.
"Hmph, it's not as if I was desperate for her hug." she mumbled.
Alix immediately after sitting down was groped by her mother-in-law. Yura touched her arms looking at them curiously and squeezing them.
"How are you so strong when you are this slim in size?"
"I eat well and I exercise occasionally." Alix answered boldly.
"You!! eat well!! I have never known a human being that eats as unhealthily as you do." Caishen's voice came from below.
Alix looked down and so did Yura. They both noticed the phone which had been placed down and a very active video call.
"I forgot about you." Yura said as she picked up the phone. "I will end the call now. You said that you have a meeting."
Caishen laughed lightly and shook his head.
"Hubby Zhang, I won." Alix squeezed in before Yura could end the call.
"I saw." Caishen answered.
"Will you buy me a gift for winning?" she asked him.
Yura and the two Zhang elders were very interested in hearing what Caishen had to say in response to this. Would he buy his wife a gift?
Also, what was with the hubby Zhang name?
If he responded said yes then it meant that the relationship between them was thriving.
"I will see you at home." he said.
He ended the call immediately after saying that.
"Aah, that kid. He is really a robot when it comes to romance." Grandpa Zhang said and sighed.
"He just watched her participate in tire flipping. In my books, the robot finally has a human heart." grandma Zhang told him.
Both elders looked at Alix and smiled fondly. The cells in their bodies were jumping and down, screaming great grand babies please.
