Yuujin's gaze fell on Colonel Violet's bag, and she quickly responded.
Though it hurt her to part with them, compared to her life, a bit of money was trivial. Though Colonel Violet was greedy, she knew the difference between life and death.
Money could be earned again, but a life lost was lost forever.
Amused, Yuujin was actually indifferent toward the Red Ribbon Army's wealth.
Although the Dragon Ball Company was only a little over a year old, its amassed wealth could rival that of nations. Even if he awarded all these riches to Colonel Violet, it wouldn't matter. Her perceptiveness, however, pleased Yuujin.
And he found it entertaining to watch her conflicted expression—both pained and forced into submission.
"I was going to let you have these riches, Colonel Violet, but since you're so eager to present them to me, I'll accept graciously."
"This is a small token of appreciation from me, Colonel Violet. Please accept it."
Yuujin handed back the wad of cash she had just given him, smiling.
Stunned, Colonel Violet's heart practically ached to the point of bleeding.
Her treasure!!!
"Is there a problem, Colonel Violet?"
Admiring her exasperated expression, Yuujin inquired further.
"N-No, thank you, sir."
Clutching her chest, Colonel Violet looked utterly defeated.
Previously, she considered herself quite clever. As a woman, she'd managed to carve a prominent place for herself within the Red Ribbon Army. But this time, Colonel Violet realized what it meant to be outsmarted by her own cleverness.
Reflecting on the fortune she'd practically had in her grasp, only to lose it herself, was painful—heartbreakingly so.
However, what Colonel Violet didn't know was that by becoming Yuujin's subordinate, what she would eventually gain would be worth thousands of times more than the fortune she'd just lost!
But there was no need to tell her that just yet; it was more amusing to let her keep agonizing.
"Let's go; it's about time we left."
After his little tease, Yuujin, in high spirits, led Colonel Violet and Princess Snake out of the vault, preparing to reunite with Goku and Chi-Chi.
They hadn't walked far when another group of Red Ribbon Army soldiers appeared. The man leading them made Colonel Violet's face pale:
"G-General Blue!"
General Blue was a high-ranking officer of the Red Ribbon Army, ruthless and formidable—Colonel Violet's direct superior.
Yuujin vaguely remembered him, not only for his unusual superpower but, more notably—
He was... effeminate!
"Colonel Violet, how dare you betray the Red Ribbon Army and try to steal its treasures!"
General Blue's face was cold as ice, making Colonel Violet's face turn pale.
"G-General Blue, I..."
"Enough, you don't need to explain. Prepare to die!"
Colonel Violet tried to explain, but General Blue cut her off, pulling the trigger with the intent to kill her.
With a bang, the gun fired, but Colonel Violet remained unscathed—Yuujin had caught the bullet.
"Colonel Violet is now under my command. Did you think you could kill her without my consent?"
Yuujin's gaze grew cold, while Colonel Violet, having barely processed what had just happened, was overcome with fear and fury.
To think, after all her efforts for General Blue, he would mercilessly try to kill her!
Ignoring her resentful look, General Blue focused on Yuujin.
This man had caught a bullet with his hand. Even General Blue was taken aback.
But so what if he could catch a single bullet? Could he catch thousands?
"Fire! Kill them all!"
Without wasting a word, General Blue commanded his soldiers.
"Yes, General Blue!"
With malicious smiles, the soldiers raised their guns. A burst of gunfire filled the air as countless bullets flew toward Yuujin and his companions.
"It's over!"
Colonel Violet's face went white as she instinctively closed her eyes. But when no pain came, she opened them cautiously.
Before them, a barrier, like a shield of light, had appeared, blocking all the bullets that had been fired.
"Could he be... a superpower user too?!"
Colonel Violet was astonished, realizing this barrier must be Yuujin's doing.
And she wasn't alone. The Red Ribbon Army soldiers and General Blue shared her thoughts.
"You have superpowers too?"
General Blue ordered his soldiers to stop their futile assault, his expression dark.
"Think what you like."
Yuujin responded with a slight, dismissive smile.
In the Dragon Ball world, power systems abound. Alongside "Ki," there are superpowers, such as General Blue's paralysis ability.
But Yuujin had little respect for these so-called superpowers.
Ki was an incredibly versatile force, allowing one to achieve everything superpowers could and more. And unlike superpowers, which were rare and specialized, Ki could theoretically be mastered by any living being through proper training.
In this Dragon Ball world, Ki was supreme. With a strong enough Ki, one could even defeat the gods themselves!
