This Is Not the Female Demon Lord I Remembered Chapter 42

·But what puzzled Liang Yi was that the game company did not remind players to seek the main storyline, resulting in all players at the time believing that the first and second versions were periods for players’ free development and exploration.

"Thank you for the reminder, Master!" Liang Yi said respectfully. He did not expect that his master would personally help to gather information after assigning him a task, which was indeed different from in the game. ᴛhis chapter is ᴜpdated by N()velFire.net

Liang Yi suddenly remembered that he had brought a gift for his master and hastily took out a bottle of Fuxiang Brew to give to him.

"This is a Spiritual Wine obtained by the Divine Wind Commerce from a secret realm, not yet available for public sale. I accidentally bought two bottles, one for Sect Master Fang and one for you, Master."

"Not bad, not bad, you still remember your master. But next time, don’t bother giving one to that stingy old Fang. Every time I visit the Complete Heaven Sect, he won’t even offer a meal," Chen Hua said joyfully, appreciating his disciple’s thoughtfulness despite the amnesia and also took a subtle jab at Fang Zhi.

"Cough cough, don’t mention this to Youyi, she can’t stand to see me drinking. I’ve even switched to drinking tea recently!"

Chen Hua tucked the fine wine into his ring, planning to savor it the next time he traveled far.

"Uh, my younger apprentice sister knows about it," Liang Yi said with a wry smile, realizing the complexities involved, and then guessed.

"But since she didn’t stop me at the time, she must have tacitly agreed, right?"

"Indeed, that must be the case," Chen Hua nodded. He would bravely pluck the beard of the Grand Saint of Nine Spirits of the Demon Clan, but feared the nagging of his own little disciple.

"Life is so hard, even a humble little hobby is prohibited," Chen Hua lamented with a sad expression.

"Ha ha, the younger apprentice sister must be doing it for your own good, Master," Liang Yi laughed as he tried to comfort him, sensing that the atmosphere in his sect was more like that of a family, unlike other sects.

"Now that you can cultivate. Oh? You’re advancing quite quickly!" Chen Hua was about to say something else but then realized that his eldest disciple had already reached the seventh level of the Dao Foundation Realm! It had only been half a month since their last meeting in Pan Yang Town where he had broken through. This speed exceeded that of ordinary people.

The first stage of cultivation, the Dao Foundation Realm, the seventh level equates to Liang Yi’s level 17.

Chen Hua nodded, initially he just hoped that his eldest disciple would be able to cultivate. Now, it seemed that his disciple was indeed a genius.

"Indeed, I have also looked into the Divination Skill of the Complete Heaven Sect. To summarize your situation briefly: one who survives a great disaster is bound for good fortune."

Chen Hua said this with a somewhat serious expression.

"And perhaps Old Fang is overly confident in his own divination, or perhaps understands too little about your situation. In my view, your deadly calamity has not been completely eradicated!"

Liang Yi was unsure why his master would say this, but given his master’s attainments and vision, he was eager to hear more.

"According to what you’ve described, your deadly calamity seems to have transformed into various tribulations brought by the Devouring Spirit Sect. Once you overcome a tribulation, you reap certain benefits. If you fail, you die!" Chen Hua slowly shared his own conjecture with his disciple.

"Fuck!" Liang Yi inwardly let out a refined and mild curse, although he appeared calm with a hint of confusion on the surface, his heart was already turbulent!

In a sense, his master’s speculation was already very close to the truth — wasn’t overcoming "tribulations" a way to gain experience and reap benefits?

"In my view, your destined death calamity was caused by the Devouring Spirit Sect. For some unknown reason, it has been resolved, but under the cycles of Heavenly Dao, your future cultivation journey will surely have frequent encounters with the Devouring Spirit Sect, which was evident on your way back."

Liang Yi pondered thoughtfully; this was indeed true. No matter where he went on his return journey, he seemed to intersect with the Devouring Spirit Sect, partly because the system was powerful and the sect was widespread. But another part might be as his master said, a manifestations of his death calamity.

"A fateful death calamity that couldn’t be avoided turned into a challenging ordeal, which I think is a good thing!"

"As the disciple of a master, if one cannot withstand these ordeals, how could they face claiming themselves a disciple of the Banished Immortal, a disciple of the Taoist Sect!" After some reflection, Liang Yi said resolutely.

"Good! You have the spirit I once had. Since that is the case, in your future cultivation journey, as long as it’s not an exceptional individual, I won’t intervene much."

"And if some shameless old fellow dares to make a move, your master hasn’t stretched his muscles for a long time," Chen Hua’s long hair fluttered without wind, his entire being emitted an unparalleled grace, as if a Banished Immortal had descended to the world.

"Alright, let’s stop here for today; it’s getting late." Chen Hua resumed his harmonious demeanor with the universe and waved at Liang Yi.

"I will go visit my junior sister first then!"

Liang Yi bid farewell and was about to leave the courtyard when Chen Hua, holding the incomplete Devouring Spirit Scripture, called out from afar.

"I forgot to remind you, the kitchen is behind your and Youyi’s house; you were always in charge of the meals for our Taoist Sect, don’t forget~"

Walking back to his house, the sky was a bit dim, but there were stone lamps built along the road, shedding warm, soft yellow light all around. Even without the stone lamps, Youdao Mountain had a sufficiently broad view at night; one could simply look up to see a full moon hanging in the Heavenly Vault, surrounded by twinkling stars.

Approaching the two side-by-side courtyards, Liang Yi saw his junior sister’s room was still dark, guessing she was probably resting. He walked around the courtyard and located the kitchen at the back side of his own courtyard.

Liang Yi touched his stomach, feeling not very hungry, and decided to return to his room first to see if he could discover anything.

The courtyard was enclosed by wooden walls, with houses built from bluestone. Unlike his junior sister’s courtyard, which had some green plants, Liang Yi’s courtyard was more like his master’s, simple and unadorned. The only thing worthy of note was a handmade rocking chair at the edge of the courtyard.

Liang Yi brushed his right hand over the rough texture of the chair, feeling an inexplicable sense of familiarity.

He crossed the courtyard and pushed open the unlocked door, entering "his" room.

The room was unlit, so even with enhanced vision, Liang Yi couldn’t see clearly. He slowly groped around the room, arriving at a desk with an oil lamp-like device on it.

With a surge of mana, the lamp in his hand lit without flame, emitting the same light as the stone lamps he had seen along the road.

It was then that Liang Yi began to carefully observe everything in the room.
