This is really not mechanical ascension Chapter 444

"Why? Of course, it’s because of Azure Dragon." Ulrich indifferently said, "Azure Dragon has already demonstrated its value and has not disappointed Connet’s expectations, making it natural for Connet to seem to give it great importance."

Sandro snorted coldly, "Aren’t we, combined, worthy of his attention?"

Ulrich couldn’t be bothered to argue with Sandro. What Connet wanted was not them. Could they become Connet’s support?

It was evident that this kind of banquet was rather unfamiliar to the Torch Organization; in a rudimentary great hall, there were metal long tables, with either A-level life forms or Mechanics seated.

However, the drinks and food were nothing special, and many were obviously prepared in haste.

"A-level life form—Brother, Des’s senior, they once followed a teacher..."

Ulrich’s gaze hinted at two life forms sitting opposite him at the rectangular metal banquet table, one on the left with a tall physique and pale yellow skin.

The other was rather handsome, with snow-white hair, elegantly lifting a wine glass: "A-level life form—Hubert, student of Mechanic Benny."

Without these two A-level life forms, Des and Benny would not have dared to come to the Torch Organization’s headquarters.

Li Ming’s gaze swept over them; Hubert nodded slightly, while Brother’s expression was cold.

Another A-level life form of the Torch Organization did not show up, only Connet’s left and right-hand men were present.

Amidst the clinking of glasses, the atmosphere gradually warmed up. Benny, Jesaya, and others were toasting with Li Ming, whispering among themselves.

Des felt like he was on pins and needles here, as due to a previous matter, everyone more or less deliberately ignored him.

As the banquet was nearing its end, he really couldn’t sit still and took the excuse of having something urgent to deal with, leaving in a hurry with Brother.

"Des, you don’t seem to be in good shape. Is it because of that Azure Dragon?" Outside the door, Brother frowned and asked.

"There’s a reason for that." Des was absent-minded.

Just after stepping out of the hall and turning through a metal corridor, Des, with his dark expression, suddenly halted, feeling panic-stricken as standing in front of him was Connet, who should have been in the banquet hall.

"Des..." Connet’s gaze was cold as it landed on Des.

Brother frowned and took a step to the side, shielding Des, and unceremoniously said, "Connet, you’re not accompanying that Azure Dragon in the banquet hall. What are you doing here?"

"Brother, I have a few words I need to speak with Lord Des alone, if you would please excuse us," Connet said, his expression becoming sober and his voice grave.

"Brother, go ahead," Des spoke from behind.

Brother turned, showing an inquiring look, but seeing Des just shake his head, he then coldly snorted at Connet and left the area.

Connet watched him leave and then said, "Could you explain to me where exactly you got that relevant data?"

"I’ve said everything I had to," Des shook his head.

"Those blueprints, you looked at them for several months and didn’t think of anything, so how did you suddenly remember?" Connet was still suspicious, but he had already had people investigate, and there was no trace of Des having contacted anyone on the outside.

"What do you want me to say? It really is that coincidental," Des approached, opening up his smart terminal, entering a certain software, with a wealth of data refreshing rapidly.

He operated it, calling up a data document, and upon opening it, the blueprints surrounded the page. Des took a glance and vaguely recognized it; it must be the Sublimator.

"Look at the timestamp on this, isn’t it..." Des pointed to the document’s timestamp.

Connet frowned. The timestamp indeed had no issues, but it was not impossible to forge.

But all he had was suspicion in his heart, with no other evidence to corroborate his doubts.

This matter was not impossible, as Des had said, it could really be a coincidence.

Azure Dragon did not have a precise way to ensure its creation; Des still had value.

Thinking this, his expression softened, "Lord Des, I apologize. As the leader of the Torch Organization, I must ensure that everything is foolproof, please forgive me."

Seeing him , Des’s expression also calmed down a lot, "It’s alright, it should be so."

"But..." Connet’s tone shifted: "The hope generated by the Sublimator seems within reach; I hope Mr. Des can cooperate peacefully."

"I, as well as the Torch Organization, will never allow any mishaps to occur."

The slightly relaxed expression of Des turned gloomy again as he muttered, "I understand."

Leaving behind those words, Des headed straight out, his face grim the entire way until he returned to his own room.

He locked the door from the inside, switched on his interference device, and immediately, an invisible field of distortion enveloped him.

Only then did the stern-faced Des slowly exhale, and with a flicker in his eyes, opened his smart terminal.

However, what he accessed was a dark page, completely different from what he had shown to Connet.

With a wave of his hands, virtual pages projected around him; his fingers moved swiftly like phantoms, opening and closing numerous pages, finally settling on a document flickering with red light.

Around it was a series of locks, formed from vast amounts of green data, tightly securing it.

He stared at the document, murmuring softly, "Asimara, the Yitelan Civilization?"

The data he acquired on the "Tanluo Monarch Biocatalyst" was extracted from this encrypted document.

When he first received this data, he instantly sensed something was amiss.

With his skills, he indeed discovered a specially crafted virus hidden within the document.

And through a certain method, he bypassed this virus and extracted the data.

But instead of destroying it, he isolated the document at the lowest level of the database, using a virtual prison.

He had long understood the function of this virus: once activated, it would rapidly spread throughout the Torch Organization’s internal network in a fission-like manner.

However, it wouldn’t cause any immediate damage but would instead wait for the moment the internal and external networks exchanged information.

This would allow it to attach to numerous data packets and send them out, these packets would be captured by another kind of special program, allowing the Yitelan Civilization to pinpoint the Torch Organization’s location.

Of course, this is the theoretical effect; Torch Organization’s internal network is not a sieve that could be infiltrated easily.

What he obtained was not just about the incomplete data and designs of the Sublimator, but also a special agreement regarding the Yitelan Civilization.

Suddenly, the abrupt sound made Des’s face dramatically change color. With just one button press, all the surrounding data pages vanished, and he looked towards the door with a cold expression.

The video terminal beside him popped up a page, showing a short Mechanical Body with a beautiful surface of blue Metal Armor. Even with Des’s strict aesthetic standards, he nodded in appreciation.

But this did not ease his expression because he remembered this Mechanical Body belonged to someone under Azure Dragon.

He made no move, and a gentle voice came from the video terminal: "Sorry, the master of this room does not wish to be disturbed at the moment."

Yet the Mechanical Body seemed like it didn’t hear, continuing to press the doorbell; after three times, the doorbell went silent.

But this short Mechanical Body was quite brutal, beginning to hammer on the door, the banging sound making Des’s expression grow darker as veins bulged on his forehead.

Opening the door, Des looked down and snapped, "If your master isn’t competent enough to write the core logic code, you can ask me for help!"

"Mr. Des..." Thunder actually possessed considerable intelligence, but it also made him seem very wooden; he wobbled back and forth, "My master invites you to discuss how to proceed with the creation of the Sublimator."

Des’s face showed displeasure; Azure Dragon was too arrogant, only sending a Mechanical Body to extend the invitation?

What he didn’t notice was that under the special lighting, the shadow under Thunder moved, mingling with his own shadow, and then there seemed to be a slight disturbance.
