This Spiritual Energy is Lethal! Chapter 606

Chapter 606: Chapter 606: Prison Cell

Diana felt herself swaying.

She curled up and slightly opened her eyes to see a yellow haze; her large buttocks and one side of her body were pressing against someone’s back—she had evidently been stuffed into a sack and was being carried on someone’s back.

A metallic taste rushed into her mouth, and a severe pain throbbed in Diana’s head, and she passed out again…

She didn’t know how much time had passed when she heard the iron door creak and shut, and dust poured into her respiratory tract with each breath.

“Ha-choo! Cough, cough, cough…” Diana woke up again, her cheek against the ground, her dark brown hair a tangled mess like an unruly mop.

Rising from the ground, Diana realized she was completely naked, clad only in her shoes, and she covered her body, sitting on the ground to survey her current predicament.

This was a place akin to a dungeon, with tiny candle stands hanging on the walls and the orange flicker of candlelight trembling. The iron bars didn’t look very sturdy.

“Well, girl… look at the mess you’ve gotten yourself into,” Diana sighed. She had thought it was just a simple mission, but now she found herself imprisoned in an unknown place, and to top it off, she was a witch.

She stretched out her hand, attempting to conjure Flame at her fingertips, but as the pattern spread along her right arm, converging at her fingertips, some force abruptly cut off her Witch Power. Only a few small sparks burst from Diana’s fingers before dying out.

“Ah…” She sighed again and rubbed the bloody patterns smeared across her body, trying to rub them away, but because Boloz had fed her blood, removing the symbols on the surface of her skin was useless.

She remembered something, took off her shoes, and poured out six Holy Diamonds, which were the full set of An Helei armor and Moonlight Greatsword, lent to her by Chen Ke.

Thankfully, they hadn’t asked her to remove her shoes; if she had lost these items, Diana really didn’t know how she would explain it to Chen Ke.

“I’ll have to rely on you for now.” Diana clutched the Holy Diamonds in her hand, and with a thought, the Moonlight Greatsword whooshed into existence. Standing up, she swung the sword a couple of times and it felt great.

Under the dim candlelight, the pale blue blade emitted a modest yet captivating glow, and calling it moonlight somehow seemed inaccurate.

“Clang clang… gurgle, gurgle…”

From the far end of the corridor came the sound of an iron door being pushed open. Diana quickly transformed the greatsword back into Holy Diamonds and held them in her palm, then lay on her side on the ground pretending to be asleep.

Footsteps approached closer, and she squinted her eyes to see a tall man in a hooded cloak slowly walking toward her cell, carrying a cloth bag on his back. His silhouette under the candlelight looked monstrous.

Brother Cloth Bag opened the iron door and tossed the sack on the floor. Then with his withered hand, he grabbed Diana’s ankle, apparently intending to stuff her in the sack and drag her off somewhere.

At that moment, Diana suddenly turned around, and the Holy Diamond in her right hand transformed into the Moonlight Greatsword. She sprang to her feet and thrust the blade at Brother Cloth Bag’s head, the sword biting deep into his neck, cutting a two-thirds deep gash.

Brother Cloth Bag made no sound, clutching tightly onto her ankle. As he still didn’t let go, Diana forcefully sliced the blade downwards at an angle, then kicked his chest.

Brother Cloth Bag’s head rolled off, thudding and rolling far away, while his body staggered and fell seated on the ground.

Even posthumously, his hand still clung tightly to Diana’s ankle. She had no choice but to chop off his wrist with the sword, then pry his fingers open by hand to retrieve her foot.

She carefully examined Brother Cloth Bag’s corpse, which was bloodless and shriveled like a mummy. The severed head that had rolled away bore a terrifying countenance, with no lips, its bare gums fully exposed, and devoid of hair. However, there were obvious stitching traces on the top of the head, and the eyes were lacking eyeballs, merely dry sockets—it was a mystery how this creature could see where it was going.

Diana summoned a full set of An Helei armor, slinging the sword over her shoulder. Although moving in armor made quite a noise, at least it covered her body.

As she turned around in the dungeon, she found it consisted of only three rooms. In the other two rooms, she discovered several women who had been abducted like herself, but they were all dead.

Diana clanked up the staircase with her sword at the ready in front of her, prepared to confront any attacking enemies. Fortunately, her luck had changed for the better, and this time, no strange creatures assaulted her.

Pushing open the wooden trapdoor on the top level, Diana emerged onto the ground. The fragrance of soil and fresh grass filled her nostrils, which improved her mood slightly. She planted the sword into the ground and looked around; dawn was just breaking—it was hard to believe she’d spent an entire night down there.

The surrounding area was all forest, with a path leading off into the distance. Beyond a small hillock, the pointed roofs of several houses were visible, roughly a thousand meters from where Diana stood.

Soon, she sensed something amiss. The air carried the acrid scent of burning flesh, and intermittently, women’s manic laughter and screams could be heard from further away.

She planted the sword into the ground and removed her helmet, resting it on the hilt, then took off one iron gauntlet. She needed the power of the Witch now.

Diana extended her index finger, reaching into her own mouth, squinting as she prodded, trying to induce vomiting.

“Ugh… Ugh… Bleagh!!……” Accompanied by a strong sense of nausea, a surge of warmth rushed up her throat, and a light-yellow vomit sprayed on the grass.

“God damn it, unbelievable…”

Diana wiped her mouth and sighed in disappointment—the only thing she threw up was Fragrant Chicken…

Perhaps the blood had already seeped into her body…

Would this cause her Witch Power to decline? Diana felt uneasy. Without Chen Ke at her side, she could only rely on herself and the Holy Relics now.

She didn’t know exactly where this place was, but if the enemies were just ordinary monsters, relying solely on this equipment shouldn’t be a problem.

Diana had seen Chen Ke use them before; the armor could resist the flames of the Witch, and the greatsword had a nice balance and sharpness. She just needed to get used to fighting in heavy armor.

Diana donned her helmet and gripped Moonlight with both hands, trying a few roof-raising and advancing maneuvers on the spot. She took a step forward, swinging the sword in a circle to her left side, then, with a quick turn to the right, she brought it down strongly, followed by returning to a roof-raising stance with the blade held high above her head, turning horizontally in a full circle before finishing at her chest with the tip angled upwards.

Her skills hadn’t become rusty, but Moonlight was not a standard model of a greatsword; it was wider, heavier, and although she could handle the weight, her speed was definitely impaired.

Further, the armor didn’t fit well—it was meant for men after all. She constantly felt a sense of constriction at her chest and found it hard to breathe with the helmet on, the weight tugging her hair from behind and slowing her steps, making her movements awkward.

This meant that Diana’s trademark ultrafast spinning slash could not be employed.

“Well, let’s just see what lies ahead, lass,” Diana muttered to herself, hoisting Moonlight over her shoulder as she headed toward the direction of the pointed-roof houses.
