This Spiritual Energy is Lethal! Chapter 711

Chapter 711: Chapter 710: Trap

Lucina clambered over the hedge fencing and peeked into the windows against the cement wall. Li Moyang’s villa hadn’t been attacked, but the inside was full of gunmen in black suits. She pulled her head back, unsure whether they had captured Li Moyang or not.

Waiting until a few Spiritual Ability Users on the roadside passed by, she darted out from behind the hiding tree trunk and circled to the other side of the house. Upstairs, she overheard a conversation. The implication of their words was that tonight, Olivia had brought a lot of people, and they were furious. They swore not to stop until their mission was accomplished.

Two black SUVs drove by slowly. Their headlights illuminated the road as bright as day. Lucina hastily lay down on the lawn, curling up behind a pile of cut grass. There were simply too many of them—it was like a high-difficulty stealth game. Being discovered would mean instant death. Lucina had only one chance.

She concluded that Li Moyang was not in the house. His moving convoy was ablaze on a street in the distance. The gunmen in black dragged a row of dead bodyguards to the roadside and then set them on fire with gasoline.

Other gunmen burst into nearby villas, indiscriminately killing anyone who might be Li Moyang’s undercover bodyguards, leaving no survivors. With such commotion on the street, it was strange that the County Police did nothing—presumably, they had been bribed from the start.

Gun battles and a few deaths on the streets at night were not worth the news in the United Federation.

She lay still on the ground, waiting for the SUVs to pass, then rolled over the lawn and dashed across the street into the green forest on the opposite side.

Homes in Holy Oak were sparsely spread out, with four or five villas forming a block and, separated by small patches of woods, connected to the next cluster by winding paths. If Li Moyang was lucky, he might have already escaped.

Lucina hid in the dark forest, contemplating her next move. Across from her, a team of Spiritual Ability Users was wrapping up their work. The ability of one person, who resembled Diana, engulfed a house in fire while tormented cries issued from an upstairs window, but they were utterly indifferent.

That place was too dangerous. Lucina shook her head and turned to another direction. The house was empty with a ‘For Sale’ sign hanging at the front. After a moment’s hesitation, Lucina ran barefoot to the villa’s yard, then peeked inside through the door with her gun raised.

She saw bloody handprints on the wall and a trail of blood on the ground, evidence that an injured person had fled inside. She gently opened the glass door in the yard, then followed the blood upstairs.

“Shh… shh… pfft pfft!” Lucina whispered, hearing the sound of running water from the living room.

“Who…?” A woman’s voice came from behind the door.

“Who are you?” Lucina whispered.

“It’s Miss Lucina, put down the gun…”

A familiar voice came from inside as Li Moyang opened the door, looking out cautiously. Seeing only Lucina, he quickly waved her in.

Lucina breathed a sigh of relief, put down her gun, and walked into the small room. Get full chapters from novel·fire.net

Inside the small room was a woman in athletic wear and Li Moyang. The woman was seriously injured, with a bloody hole in her right shoulder and half of her face distorted in pain. She had taken off her top and was sitting on the bed treating her wound.

Li Moyang, wearing a bathrobe, was stitching up the woman’s wound, seemingly unharmed himself.

At that moment, Parker emerged from a vase. He quickly turned and closed the door.

“Who is she?” Lucina asked.

“A bodyguard, there were four of them,” replied Li Moyang.

Lucina noticed an MP7 leaning against the foot of the bed, a weapon that was useless against Spiritual Ability Users.

Seeing Lucina’s face covered in blood and a large gash on her arm, Li Moyang handed her a bottle of mineral water.

“Can you contact Chen Ke? I’ve called several times, but he’s out of service,” Li Moyang asked.

“Right now, I don’t even have my phone, and besides, if he’s gone where only he can go, none of us can reach him,” Lucina shook her head.

“He said he was going to the black box with them, didn’t he?” Parker said at that moment.

“The black box, huh… No wonder, he must have his own needs, after all, all power requires energy.” Li Moyang sighed.

“We should contact the others and the Federation Spiritual Power Administration right away,” the female bodyguard said.

“It’s no use, if they dare to do this, it means they’ve already dealt with the Administration Bureau. And our people won’t be able to get here in time,” Li Moyang said.

“What about your armor?” Lucina asked.

“I dismantled the MK-2. I can’t make a more advanced model in this environment, so once I dismantled it, I was left without any armor,” Li Moyang said.

“So what do we do now? Just sit here and wait for Chen Ke to come back?” Parker asked.

“I don’t know, the roads out of here are definitely sealed, and it’s only a matter of time before the patrol finds this house. There’s a helicopter in the sky; we’ll definitely be spotted if we walk, and we can’t drive either. There are too many people on the streets, and spiritual ability users…” Li Moyang said.

“So you’re saying… we’re as good as dead?” Lucina spread her hands, leaning her shotgun against the wall.

“I think so, all my previous countermeasures were based on targeted assassinations, but I never expected them to do this,” Li Moyang said.

“Life is unpredictable…” the female bodyguard sighed.

“Miss Lucina, your wound has bled a lot,” Li Moyang said.

“I have thick blood; it’s not a big deal. It’s just a cut on my arm, the blood on my face is someone else’s,” Lucina said, twisting open a bottle of mineral water and gulping down several mouthfuls. She indeed felt quite thirsty.

“Parker, you’re ash, can’t you float out on your own?” Li Moyang looked at Parker.

“Maybe I could. But I can’t just escape on my own,” Parker said.

“All we can do now is prepare for the worst… If some of us are going to die in this wave… at least one of us needs to survive to tell Chen Ke what happened,” Li Moyang spoke rather calmly.

“Your pessimism… just makes me feel even heavier…” the female bodyguard shook her head.

“Can you two… be a little more positive? Things can’t be that bad,” Lucina said helplessly.

“Maybe Chen Ke showed you some things… right? Now that you say it, it reminds me of some things…” Li Moyang’s expression became stern all of a sudden.

“What? Is it good or bad?” the female bodyguard asked.

“He never told me, but I think he must have time-related abilities. Miss Lucina, did he foresee all this?” Li Moyang asked.

“I don’t know, he never told me any of this,” Lucina shook her head.

“That’s such a pity, I thought I could get something out of you,” Li Moyang said disappointedly. The female bodyguard also looked at Lucina with a disappointed expression.

“Something’s… not right about you two,” Lucina frowned.

“You should have realized that earlier,” Li Moyang said with a smile, his face slowly changing into an unfamiliar one. The female bodyguard also transformed, and the wounds on her body disappeared.

Lucina felt a dangerous presence behind her. As she turned around, a burly man in a trench coat appeared behind her.

“PARKER!!” Lucina shouted, and the next second the burly man grabbed her by the collar and lifted her up, then with one arm, threw her out of the second-floor window.
