The others had a glimmer of hope in their eyes at his words and quickly pressed him for more information.
Son of Heaven nodded, "I can’t be certain about their specific levels. However, judging from their attributes during combat, the Ghost Captain should be around level 22-23, and the Red Sickle Girl should be slightly lower. Her attribute points are allocated quite radically, which makes it tougher to judge. But she’s definitely not beyond level 21..."
"What about the third one?" a person asked with a smile. They were aware, from the intelligence they had received when they first arrived, that there were three people on the opposing side; the Red Sickle Girl, the Ghost Captain, and an unknown third member.
"The other one... their ID was hidden so I don’t know much about them. Apart from their summoning abilities, which are quite effective, they seem fairly ordinary. They’re probably just standard players. But considering the Ghost Captain specifically brought them along, they might have some special abilities..." said the Son of Heaven.
"In any case, there’s no need to worry about that person. Indeed, the Ghost Captain is mighty with a wide range of combat techniques. Yet, unless we are fighting one on one, there’s no need for excessive worry. At least, their special abilities that can be upgraded to the Legendary Level, should be unusable here..."
As the Son of Heaven spoke, he deliberately paused and his eyes suddenly became serious: "Actually, the one we should truly be wary of is the Red Sickle Girl. To be more precise, it’s the scythe in her hand ..."
"Regardless of whether they are at the Legendary Level, that scythe is genuine. I can’t be too specific, but everyone should be extremely careful to avoid being hit by that scythe. Even a scratch could spell trouble..." Son of Heaven warned.
The others exchanged glances in disbelief. Was it really that lethal to the point that even a scratch mattered?
"However, now that we know their power is only at this level, can we... start attacking directly?" someone suggested after a moment’s thought.
Previously, they were reluctant to challenge the Ghost Captain’s army directly for fear of their Legendary Level abilities which could easily wipe out the ordinary members of their team. If that happened, their advantage would significantly diminish.
But now, once they had confirmed that the opposition did not possess Legendary Level abilities, they could employ the Zerg Strategy. They could use sheer numbers to intimidate and suppress the enemy...
Those who heard this were greatly moved. Though they were the ones with superior strength on paper, they had been suppressed by two Legendary Level beings for so long that they were always on the defensive. Many of them were discontent and were looking forward to a fight that could turn the tables.
"The Ghost Captain has already obtained the first fragment. So, he should be coming this way soon... Let’s set up an ambush at the entrance to section two ahead," the Son of Heaven suggested pensively.
Having a face-to-face battle with the Ghost Captain now might take some time, and it would be hard to beat him to the second fragment. But if they could kick him out of the game, it would definitely be worth it.
As for Jack and his crew on the other side, he wasn’t really concerned about them.
The others were thrilled upon hearing Son of Heaven’s decision — it clearly meant that they were about to engage the opposition in a direct showdown.
Without further ado, everyone rushed to the intersection ahead to quickly find their positions and hide, waiting for the Ghost Captain to approach.
Mu You didn’t keep them waiting for long. About ten minutes later, they heard a bustling sound echoing from the distant streets.
Everyone immediately went on high alert, armed and ready for the offensive.
This was the only path to enter zone two, so they didn’t have to worry about the Ghost Captain taking another route.
"This sound...it seems off?" someone remarked, not able to hide a frown at the distant noise.
Not just him, but the others also sensed that something was amiss as even the ground started to shake slightly.
They said there were only three of them, right? What was this large-scale migratory-like noise all about?
Just as they were speculating, the loud commotion from the front had swiftly drawn near.
A few seconds later, a figure sped around the corner ahead, coming into everyone’s view. Without a doubt, it was the Ghost Captain.
The Ghost Captain was sprinting towards them at a breakneck speed, seemingly unaware of the trap lying ahead.
However, before they could celebrate, they saw countless small octopuses appearing behind the Ghost Captain. The octopuses were crawling from all directions and approaching them at a rapid speed. The concentration of octopuses was such that it reminded them of locust plagues and besieged cities filled with zombies.
Those hiding on this side were left stunned by the sight.
"How did octopuses end up here..."
"Their number... must be over a hundred thousand...."
The sight was so explosive that, even as the Ghost Captain drew near, they were so taken aback that they didn’t know if they should attack or not.
Attacking at this point looked like it would backfire...
It was Mu You, instead, who first noticed the hidden figures around him.
"Oh, everyone’s here!"
"Great, come and give me a hand!"
