Even though it was isolated by the Goblin race and despised and laughed at by many of its people, it was, after all, a Goblin at heart and had deep feelings for its race and Clockwork City.
Now that the clan had chosen to hide away for self-preservation, it, being a Goblin cast out, suddenly became like a rootless duckweed, which made it extremely confused for a moment.
"Still, even so, you have to let me leave!" After lying on the ground feeling sad for a while, Eugene suddenly stood up again and said seriously, "This was what we agreed upon at the start!"
When it had agreed to come back with Mu You, it had only promised to help him create an Energy Converter. Now that the task it had promised to undertake was completed, there was no reason to keep it any longer.
"Don’t worry, if you want to leave, I won’t stop you," Mu You said.
Having heard that, Eugene immediately went back to the small iron hut, dragged out a bundle even bigger than itself, secured it on its back, and headed toward the exit of Dawn City.
"However, are you sure you want to leave so unremarkably?" Mu You said, looking at Eugene’s retreating figure and suddenly speaking up.
Eugene frowned and turned back, "What do you mean by ’unremarkably’?"
"I helped you create the Energy Converter and verified my concept. This is a groundbreaking invention!" Eugene said with a face full of pride.
"Your so-called groundbreaking invention requires my energy core to work. Without the core I provided, your invention is still worthless."
Mu You said while looking at it, "Besides, are you really satisfied just inventing one thing ?"
"What do you mean?" Eugene’s frown deepened.
"Don’t you have some higher aspirations?" Mu You asked.
"For example, building another Clockwork City for the Goblins who, like you, were abandoned by their race...," Mu You said.
"Build... another Clockwork City?!"
Eugene first was stunned, then his eyes suddenly lit up. He quickly untied the bundle he was carrying and ran back to Mu You, anxiously asking, "What do you mean?"
You’ve seen my energy core. It nearly has infinite energy. If I give it to you, do you have the capability to use it to recreate a Clockwork City?" Mu You asked with a smile.
"Of course, I can!" Eugene blurted out.
Then, hesitating for a moment, it added, "However, building a Clockwork City requires more than just energy; it requires materials! What about the materials?"
Mu You glanced toward the endless expanse of the city, "Aren’t they everywhere here in Sky City?"
The materials that could be mined in Sky City nearly included all types of Alchemy Materials.
"You want me to build a Clockwork City inside Dawn City?" Eugene looked incredulously at Mu You.
Mu You shook his head, "The land of Dawn City is all in use, we don’t have that much space for you, but you can go to another place."
"City of Eternal Night!"
"Eternal Night... you mean, that perpetually darkened Sky City?" Eugene’s eyes shone.
As one of the oldest Alchemists among the Goblins, he had naturally heard of the grand reputation of the City of Eternal Night.
"Yes, that place should suit you more, shouldn’t it?" Mu You said with a smile.
"Take me to see!" Eugene was already impatient.
Although Goblins were not complete nocturnal creatures, they were naturally skilled at mining underground, and having spent years in darkness, working in a dark environment actually suited their habits and nature better.
Mu You wasted no words and teleported with it to the City of Eternal Night.
"Where do I build the city?" Upon arriving, Eugene, looking at the deserted, desolate City of Eternal Night, quickly turned back to ask.
Mu You directly took out a map of the City of Eternal Night.
Like the other Sky Cities, the City of Eternal Night was circular in scope.
Mu You drew a quarter circle section on the map, waved his hand grandly, "If you decide to build the city, this area is yours to use!"
Eugene looked at Mu You in shock, pointed at the map and confirmed, "You mean, I can use any of the minerals in this region as I wish?"
"As long as you have the capacity to mine them, use them as you wish!" Mu You nodded.
"And that energy core of yours, I can use that as I please too?" Eugene swallowed, then asked.
"Aren’t you afraid I’ll deplete your energy?" Eugene looked at him with an odd expression.
Although the energy core was touted to have unlimited energy, it wasn’t truly infinite. Building an entire Clockwork City, even if it was that piece, would inevitably lead to it being used up one day.
Mu You laughed upon hearing this, I’m actually afraid you won’t use it fast enough!
"How about we sign a bet agreement?"
"What kind of agreement?" Eugene was taken aback.
Mu You took out the pitch-black Forest Spirit Core and held it in his hand.
"This core, if you can deplete its energy within ten months, I’ll give you a new one!"
Eugene, after a long pause, finally came to his senses, looked at Mu You as if he was looking at a fool, pointed at the core, then at himself, "If I deplete this thing, not only will you not scold me for wasting it, but you’ll give me a new one?"
"Yes, but there is a condition," Mu You nodded.
"The energy from this core must be used entirely for the construction of the City of Eternal Night and not be wasted elsewhere!" Mu You emphasized, "If, on the premise of ensuring the fastest upgrade for the City of Eternal Night, you can deplete this core’s energy within ten months, I will keep my word and give you a new one."
"The question is, can you do it?" Mu You finally added.
