Fuya quickly recognized Mu You and let out a small sigh of relief. After wandering in another world for two days, she finally encountered someone she knew... albeit not very well.
Mu You approached her quickly, giving Fuya a careful look.
At this moment, Fuya’s face and body were somewhat grimy. Although she tried her best to maintain the demeanor of a lady of noble birth, the hardship of a noblewoman in distress was evident to anyone, suggesting she had already suffered quite a bit on Earth.
This wasn’t hard to understand. Mu You glanced over Fuya and noticed she carried no luggage except for a small bag at her waist, presumably brought from the Star Spirit World. However, backpacks would become inoperable upon arriving here, so since arriving on Earth, she must have been penniless all along. Coupled with the language barrier and her reluctance to reveal her identity recklessly, her current situation was all too normal.
Yet, Mu You was still somewhat puzzled, "What happened? How did you get into a fight with a street vendor’s owner?" After all, Fuya came from a good background and had received a higher education. Even if she had never been to Earth, she surely knew the need to be cautious and low-key upon arriving in a new world. How did she end up in a conflict with the locals?
"A street vendor? What vendor, that was clearly a rogue!" Fuya was indignant when she spoke of the incident.
Mu You listened to her complaints and finally understood the whole story.
Fuya had arrived on Earth two days ago. Being unfamiliar with the place and with her backpack locked, she had nothing and had been hungry for two whole days.
Today, unable to bear it any longer, she took off her family crest, hoping to get some food on credit. Pledging with a family crest as collateral is a common practice in the Star Spirit World, signifying a vow on the family’s honor to complete the transaction later.
The person she approached was the breakfast stall owner. Unfortunately, the owner didn’t buy into this approach and rejected her trade request. That would have been the end of it, but the owner, perhaps sensing Fuya’s desperation and embarrassment, made an offhand remark about "repaying with her body" if she had no money.
Fuya might not understand the language here, but the owner’s frivolous tone and expression were not lost on her. She instantly grasped his meaning.
At that point, Fuya exploded in anger. Raised with noble values since childhood, she had never faced such an insult—especially in front of her family crest. In a fit of rage, she gave the owner a beating then and there before storming off.
Afterward, the breakfast stall owner called the police, and the police came to investigate. As soon as Fuya saw the multitude of police cars and officers, she assumed they were there to arrest her and naturally chose to flee, leading to the increasingly chaotic situation, culminating in what was happening now.
"He insulted me, and I beat him up. Isn’t that normal? Why arrest me and not him?" Fuya finished speaking, still visibly angry.
"Alright, I’ll explain the situation to them later. For now, just come with me," Mu You said with an amused shake of his head. No matter what, thankfully she hadn’t caused any real harm, and there was still room for negotiation.
Seeing the wariness still on Fuya’s face, Mu You reassured her, "Don’t worry, I assure you they won’t trouble you. But you have to promise to follow my arrangements after we go out. Also, you must not resort to violence against anyone else. Don’t forget, this is the Forgotten Land. There are no second chances at life here, so using your strength to hurt people is a severe matter. Continuing to act recklessly will only make your situation more troublesome."
Upon hearing this, Fuya hesitated before nodding.
She understood that, in this unfamiliar place, other than relying on Mu You, the ’acquaintance’ she had, there was no other choice.
