“Kid, would you like Daddy to marry Mommy?” Li Zhenting leaned down slightly and asked in a friendly tone.
Marry Mommy?
Coco was momentarily taken aback, his eyes widening in surprise.
Did this scumbag of a father’s desire to marry Mommy imply that, despite his wrongdoings, he didn’t deserve to be damned to death? If he could marry Mommy, they would become a family, and Coco would finally have a father, just like other kids. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?
You see, Mommy had a tough time in United States, juggling her studies, work, and taking care of him and his little sister all on her own. It was incredibly challenging.
And on top of that, this father had money, not to mention his striking good looks. He was undoubtedly a perfect match for Mommy!
If this father genuinely married Mommy, Mommy wouldn’t despise him as much anymore!
A loving family… wouldn’t that be fantastic!
His dark eyes sparkled with a radiant light.
“If you marry Mommy, will she get to eat well, dress well, and live here with us? Will you treat her kindly, right?” Coco blinked his large eyes, his earnestness evident.
“Of course.”
“That’s great! Can I trust your words?” He asked, still a bit skeptical, his voice filled with innocence.
“Absolutely. Daddy always keeps his promises. Don’t worry, I’ll marry your Mommy right away.” Li Zhenting’s lips curled into a faint smile as he gently patted Coco’s little head.
“Okay, Daddy. It’s getting late. I’ll go to sleep now,” Coco replied, fully content. He nodded and let out a big yawn before climbing onto the soft bed with his little legs.
This bed was so large and comfortable.
With his head tilted back, his limbs sprawled in the air, Coco quickly drifted off to sleep as soon as his head touched the soft pillow.
Li Zhenting looked at Coco’s adorable little face, with its delicate features and innocent expression. His thin lips curved up slightly.
The next day, at the Guqi GUCXI Perfume Store.
As soon as Shen Ning stepped inside, her chest tightened, and a sharp pang of pain pierced her heart. This high-end perfume store, a culmination of her mother’s lifelong efforts, was now suffering from a declining reputation and teetering on the edge of closure.
Standing in the corridor, she lifted her gaze towards the president’s office. Her fingers toyed with a strand of hair near her temple, while a cold and mocking smile curled on her lips.
Li Zhenting, you heartless and unfaithful scoundrel, you never expected me to return alive, did you?

She pursed her lips tightly and marched confidently towards the president’s office.
Inside the office of the president.
An elegant and noble man sat on an Italian leather sofa, a cigar held between his fingers. The heavy ink landscape painting on the folding screen added depth to his enigmatic and refined features, emanating an air of magnificence and mystery. He exuded a powerful presence from head to toe.
Shen Ning entered the room with graceful and confident strides.
“You… Why is it you? Aren’t you supposed to be dead?” Li Zhenting’s face turned pale, the cigar slipping from his hand as he hastily stood up.
“Well, Mr. Li, what kind of words are those? Is it common to declare someone dead upon first seeing them?” Shen Ning retorted with a scornful tone, her words sharp. “You wanted me dead so badly, didn’t you? Weren’t you expecting never to see me alive again?”
Li Zhenting’s handsome face went through several changes, his eyes filled with uncertainty.
But being seasoned in the face of adversity, he quickly regained his composure.
Indeed, how could someone like Shen Ning contemplate suicide? He had almost fallen for it back then…
“Tell me, what brings you here?” He slid his hands into his pockets, his gaze turning cold, his voice distant.
Shen Ning sneered coldly, her lips curled into a sardonic smile.
“How strange. Your company invited me here to discuss cooperation, yet the welcome I’ve received seems rather lackluster. It appears there’s no sincerity. Well, I’ll be on my way then.”
With that, she turned around and walked away.
