Are You Afraid?
“Shen Ning, do you think I’m someone you can come and go as you please?”
“And what do you want, then? To kill me?” Shen Ning retorted angrily. “Let me tell you, I’ve already died once. I’m not afraid of scum like you.” She accused them vehemently. “You have no sense of right and wrong, you let emotions cloud your judgment, and you’re beyond redemption. Even if we continue to collaborate, it will only lead us down a dead-end path.”
She felt an overwhelming sense of sadness! She couldn’t fathom how she had once fallen for this man and loved him to her very core. It was as if she had been blind!
Li Zhenting was momentarily taken aback!
He had received treatment for his injured eyes, but only Shen Mei, who had taken care of him back then, knew about it. His grandfather had secretly dealt with the person who had pushed him, sending them to the police for punishment. The incident of his eye injury had been kept under wraps.
The reasons for this were twofold. Firstly, he had been groomed as the heir since childhood and didn’t want to tarnish his image. Secondly, family secrets should not be exposed to the public. The one who had pushed him was his own second uncle, and his grandfather didn’t want outsiders to witness the ugly internal strife within the Li family, as it would also tarnish the company’s reputation.

Shen Ning’s unintentional remark had struck a deep chord within Li Zhenting’s heart.
He stared intently at her face, not missing any subtle expression.
However, Shen Ning’s face remained impassive, as cold as ice.
He took a deep breath, calming his emotions.
“Shen Ning, don’t act like a resentful woman, as if I’m bullying you. Let me tell you, Li Zhenting has always believed in evidence and doesn’t blindly trust any party. If the evidence shows you’re at fault, you must bear the consequences.”
“Evidence?” Shen Ning sneered. “So, you only rely on evidence?”
“Of course.”
“Fine, then I’ll show you the evidence right now.” Shen Ning suppressed her anger. In truth, she no longer cared about the truth. At this moment, she just wanted to slap him hard and see what this despicable man would say after seeing the evidence.
She turned and walked towards the warehouse.
Over the years, she had developed a habit of being cautious in everything she did. The warehouse was a critical area, and it undoubtedly had surveillance cameras!
Earlier that morning, she had specifically checked the surveillance footage. To her surprise, she found that several large crates had completely blocked the view of the cameras.
The occurrence of such a situation in the warehouse made her realize that it was targeted at her. Someone had tampered with it in advance, intending to cause trouble and tarnish her reputation.
She immediately moved the crates aside.
Therefore, all the surveillance footage would undoubtedly be clear and visible.
With confidence, she walked inside.
Li Zhenting hesitated for a moment but was about to follow.
“Zhenting, don’t let her deceive you. She’s cunning,” Shen Mei anxiously warned, grabbing Li Zhen Ting’s arm.
Shen Ning turned back and sneered, “Shen Mei, are you scared now?”
“What am I afraid of? Do you think the perfumes in the warehouse can magically turn white into black?” Shen Mei couldn’t fathom what evidence Shen Ning could possibly present and spoke up defiantly.
Shen Ning scoffed, “Perfumes can’t see, but surveillance cameras can. Whoever is lying will be exposed once we check the footage.”
Shen Mei secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
So, this wicked woman just wanted to check the surveillance footage. Little did she know that the footage had already been tampered with. She felt reassured.
“Go ahead and check. I’m not afraid of anything,” Shen Mei declared with determination, linking her arm with Li Zhenting’s and walking in confidently.
Ten minutes later.
The three of them emerged from the warehouse, and Shen Mei’s face was pale and dejected.
