He leaned in and whispered, “Don’t be afraid, it’s just thunder.”
Drums of raindrops started to fall down, the tremendous sound stealing away any trace of sleepiness from Su Tang.
She sat up on her bed and stared out at the cave entrance, which was like a waterfall.
She was slightly entranced.
Seeing this, Gaiyin sat up, held Su Tang in his arms, and touched her cold hands.
He couldn’t help but frown, “Why are you so cold?
I’ll get more beast skins for you when the sun comes up!”
He held her a bit tighter, trying to transfer some of his warmth into her.
This time, Su Tang didn’t push Gaiyin away.
Her gaze shifted towards the Wall-Crawler Beast laid out on the ground of the cave, now completely cold.
The Wall-Crawler Beast wasn’t as frightening in appearance as she had initially thought.
It somewhat resembled the lizards she had seen back on the Blue Planet.
Once, Su Tang thought those small lizards were quite cute.
However, seeing one this big, nearly two meters in length and weight, sent shivers down her spine.

Although she had hoped that the rain would stop, it seemed to continue without an end.
Raindrops, as big as beans, continued to form lines as they fell, creating numerous water pits on the ground.
The sky was grey and depression-inducing.
Water began to accumulate on the floor of this cave.
Su Tang suddenly thought of the cave piled high with chestnuts.
In her rush, she had Gaiyin bring her there and, not caring too much about revealing her space in front of Gaiyin, she stored all the chestnuts away.
Those chestnuts were the tribe’s food supply for the entire winter!
Clearly, they could no longer live in the cave so Su Tang returned with Gaiyin to his own cave.
She quietly sat at the entrance of the cave, watching the whole world seem to be shrouded in a curtain of rain.
It seemed as if a hole had been torn open in the sky, causing a flood to pour down with no signs of stopping anytime soon.
Gaiyin stoked the flame in front of Su Tang to make it burn hotter.
He held a basket in his hands, looking ready to leave.
Su Tang asked hurriedly, “Where are you going in this heavy rain?”
“Rainy seasons are always like this.
I’m off to the forest to see if there are any game.
Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon!”
“But…” Before Su Tang could finish, Gaiyin had transformed into a large tiger.
With the basket clasped in his mouth, he spread out his wings and launched himself towards the curtain of rain.
She glanced at her wristwatch.
The rain had been pouring for over 12 hours now.
The weather in the Beastman Continent is indeed unpredictable.
Not long after Gaiyin flew out, Su Tang faintly spotted many other beastmen from the tribe heading out, presumably also going to the forest to hunt.
With nothing to do, Su Tang started heating water in a clay pot, preparing to brew a pot of Green Onion Ginger Tea to help warm Gaiyin up when he returned.
Just as she had got up from the ground, she felt a brief moment of dizziness.
The sensation passed so quickly that Su Tang almost thought she had imagined it!
Su Tang shook her head and didn’t notice any discomfort in her body.
Perhaps she’d been sitting for too long and got up too quickly.
Maybe it was just a bout of low blood sugar.
She didn’t give it much thought and focused on brewing the Green Onion Ginger Tea.
Luckily, Gaiyin returned soon after.
He put the basket on the ground, shaking his tiger body vigorously to shake off the water droplets before morphing back into his human form and walking into the cave with the basket.
Su Tang thoughtfully handed him a dry beast skin, “Wipe yourself down, be careful not to catch a cold!”
“Oh, I’ve also brewed some Green Onion Ginger Tea.
It’s good for dispelling cold.
You can drink some later.”
