Time Travel: The Best Doctor in Ancient Times Chapter 136

Chapter 136: Chapter 75: Bloodbath

“Girl, this time it’s not just my underlings, but legitimate assassins,” Yue Xilou tapped his folding fan nonchalantly in his hand.

“Not just assassins, but well-trained assassins.”

Gu Changsheng furrowed her brows as she listened to the orderly footsteps outside the courtyard—a military-like rhythm, a small group of a hundred or so, causing her heart to tremble slightly.

“Girl, you’ve really gotten yourself into trouble…” The folding fan continued to tap.

“Obviously, you plan to stand by and watch?” Gu Changsheng glared at him.

In reality, she truly didn’t expect this man to help; one couldn’t expect a man who earns his living by killing to have a compassionate heart, no matter how attractive he is. This couldn’t conceal his nature as a mercenary.

Such a person, both righteous and evil, the less involved one is, the better.

“Girl, you are indeed wise.” Yue Xilou smiled briefly.

“Then stand back, lest you get splattered with blood!” Gu Changsheng said coldly, glanced at him, turned to Ning Er, and threw a token, “Find someone, the faster, the better!”

“Understood!” Ning Er caught the token with both hands, kneeled on one knee, then sprung up and retreated towards the back of the courtyard.

Anyone with a bit of Kung Fu knowledge could roughly tell that these were not one or two third-rate assassins; this was a tough battle.

And Gu Changsheng clearly had no intention of showing off her strength; only fools would pretend to be heroically brave.

As soon as Gu Changsheng spoke, she was the first to turn back into the house.

After everyone else, Yue Xilou also darted inside; in such a critical situation, those two might come out to help again, and he was waiting for it.

“Do you think they will come to rescue you again?”

“I don’t know, but I do know it’s better to rely on oneself than hope for others, hoping for others always leaves one passively getting hit,” Gu Changsheng opened a closet and took out two black grenades clutching them in her hand.

She really didn’t like using firearms to harm people; in this age of cold weapons, such things were undoubtedly conspicuous.

But with her life hanging by a thread and an army bearing down, she couldn’t care less about whether it was honorable!

After a deep look at Yue Xilou, Gu Changsheng turned to Han Qiu, “They have surrounded the entire courtyard. I’ll blow up the wall, and while they’re in disarray, I’ll cover you as you break out.”

“Han Qiu, take them to the Commandery Prince’s House at the foot of the mountain. It’s a summer retreat for many aristocrats, there should definitely be defenses there.”

“My lady!” Han Qiu hugged Little Meat Bun tightly and called out worryingly.

Gu Changsheng gave her a deep look, suppressing the anxiety in her heart, “I entrust my son to you.”

Picking up the Fire Starter, Gu Changsheng glanced at a few family members, “Stick close to Han Qiu, protect yourselves, and whatever happens, don’t look back!”

The people clung to each other’s hands, their faces a mix of terror and determination.

Gu Changsheng shouted, and the grenades flew out.

In an instant, the sound of explosions accompanied by smoke spread everywhere, significantly blowing apart the back wall of the house.

Gu Changsheng, scalpel in hand, charged out first.

“There they are, kill!”

The assassins surrounding the back yard were startled by the bold move, but quickly recovered.

“Seeking death!” Gu Changsheng’s face was icy as she charged at the leading assassins.

Gu Changsheng doesn’t know any inner strength techniques; she relied solely on her nimble speed and quick reactions.

Gu Changsheng shouted to Han Qiu, who cradled her son with one arm and wielded a sword with the other. Her eyes were bloodshot with desperation and worry.

Han Qiu, assessing the situation, grabbed Han Mo with one hand and was the first to bolt through the opening Gu Changsheng had made.

“Xiao Cui, catch this.” Gu Changsheng, seeing Xiao Cui as the last one to pass her by, threw the last grenade in her arms.

Xiao Cui caught the incoming assassins in a panic and called out in concern and fear as Gu Changsheng, seeing this, somersaulted past an assassin behind her and stabbed him in the chest, shouting, “Go!”

This wasn’t a matter of one or two assassins, nor ten or twenty!

If it were ten or twenty, she might have a chance to protect everyone. But there were now hundreds!

Xiao Cui, with determined eyes, gave her lady one last look and turned to sprint towards Han Qiu’s direction.

As they ran towards the mid-mountain area of Baili Mountain, Gu Changsheng covered the rear, confronting the crowd gathered together.

Yue Xilou stood on a nearby large tree, with an inscrutable expression, watching the scene below as Gu Changsheng defied the odds, her movement technique entirely geared towards lethal attacks.
