Time Travel: The Best Doctor in Ancient Times Chapter 138

Chapter 138: Chapter 76: Han Qiu is Severely Injured

If someone wrongs me, I shall exact vengeance!

Like a blood-red scythe, Gu Changsheng struck as soon as he spoke, and his scalpel flew from his hand.

At a bizarre angle, it spun and disappeared into the man’s chest in the blink of an eye.

“Over there, charge!”

From the mountain came Ning Er’s urgent shout as a line of figures burst through where Han Qiu and the others were and sped towards her.

Gu Changsheng breathed a sigh of relief and watched as Ning Er, having covered several ups and downs, landed beside him.

“Lady!” Ning Er helped Gu Changsheng, who was kneeling on one knee on the ground, and called out with concern.

“Scatter!” Seeing that the situation was unfavorable, the remaining leaderless assassins shouted and started to flee.

“Think you can run? No way!” Gu Changsheng, supported by Ning Er, rose to his feet. His bloodstained face showed a trace of ferocity, “Kill them all, leave none alive!”

Those who wanted her life, those who had injured her, had to pay the price in blood!

“Understood!” Ning Er saluted with his fist, brandished his longsword, and led the charge.

Bodies lay strewn about along the path, entangled and winding down, a good sixty or seventy… Lady Changsheng, how had she fought her way here?

Everyone, their spirits trembling, looked upon the less than half remaining assassins and felt greatly inspired.

A woman alone possessed the capacity and boldness to navigate through myriad troops; how could they be any less than a woman?

The scene had devolved into a one-sided massacre, filled with cries of battle, roars, and the clashing of swords…

Gu Changsheng, enduring the pain in his back, walked up to the leading assassin and slowly bent down to retrieve his scalpel.

“In this world, unless I seek death myself, no one can take my life!”

She had traversed a thousand years of time, crossed vast expanses to come here, and it was not to meet her death.

“You!” The assassin leader, his chest still profusely bleeding, lacked even the strength to grip his sword.

“Speak, who sent you!” Gu Changsheng wiped his scalpel on the sleeve of his robe, glanced at the dying man, “Speak, and I’ll leave your body intact.”

“You… are not… human…”

The fragmented words accompanied by blood gushed from the man’s mouth as he stared in horror at the woman before him, who seemed like a Rakshasa…

A woman who still stood despite such an ambush!

A woman without martial arts skills, yet she had taken the lives of countless of his subordinates; it was nearly like a reincarnation of a Rakshasa…

“Heh heh…” Gu Changsheng scoffed disdainfully, not human? “If killing you means I’m not human, then I don’t mind becoming a demon!”

Survival is instinctive; she was never one to sit idly by waiting for death!

The man intended to say more but instead coughed up a mouthful of fresh blood.

“You work for Prince Liang. I know it. Did he order you to kill me?” Gu Changsheng, seeing his state, maneuvered the silver needles in her hand.

She needed to know, who had issued the Kill-on-Sight Order against her.

No matter who it was, whether the Emperor or a prince, she was determined to make them pay the price in blood, relentlessly.

“Not… him…” the man gasped for air.

“Liuzhou… City… Lord…”

Gu Changsheng watched as the man’s neck twisted. He was dead.

“Liuzhou… City… Lord!” Gu Changsheng repeated emphatically, her body simmering with murderous intent.

“Mother…” Little Meat Bun, in Xiao Cui’s arms, called out from a distance.

Gu Changsheng stiffly turned her head, gazing at the group not far off as if they were worlds apart.

“Mother…” Little Meat Bun called again with a worried voice, now with a hint of tears.

“Son…” Gu Changsheng slowly extended her hands, reaching for the little face before her.

“Mother, don’t be afraid… I’m okay,” Little Meat Bun grabbed the blood-stained hand extended to him, pressing it against his face, soothingly speaking, “Mother, see? It’s warm. I’m really okay…”

“You’re okay… that’s good…”

Gu Changsheng exhaled deeply, her murderous aura instantly dissipating.

The heart-stopping scene of the arrow flying towards him seemed like it was still right before her eyes. At that moment, Gu Changsheng was truly frightened. She had never been so afraid before; she thought she was going to lose this child…

Following Little Meat Bun’s gaze, she saw Han Qiu being supported by Xiao Cui and Dong Lei, looking at her worriedly.

Gu Changsheng observed the arrow protruding from her shoulder, saw her blood-soaked front, thought of how she had unhesitatingly taken that arrow for her son, thought of how despite the severe injuries, she held her son…

“Lady.” Han Qiu’s face was pale, returning a faint smile.

Gu Changsheng let go of her son, quickly walked up to her, and examined the arrow that had penetrated Han Qiu’s body, her expression serious.

“Han Qiu, you saved my son. I, Gu Changsheng, owe you a favor. As long as I live, whatever you ask of me, even if it costs my life, I will make it happen,” Gu Changsheng promised as she inserted several silver needles into the points to stop the bleeding.
