Before she could speak, Enoch became furious, “Fire Fox, do you realize what you’re saying? I don’t like you, and this has nothing to do with her. Don’t drag others into this.”
Although no one present understood Gu Shengyin’s abilities better than him, Enoch was unwilling to let his own troubles cause his woman any unwarranted distress.
In his anger, Enoch did not suppress his power, and his imposing aura bore down on Fire Fox directly. She felt her body sink, realizing she had angered the man.
At such a moment, the best course of action would be to know when to back down.
But… looking at the composed woman standing beside him, her heart was filled with reluctance.

Enoch’s reaction was… to show no reaction at all.
However, at a time , the absence of any reaction implied tacit acceptance of her statement.

She had her own pride, and even if she was being needlessly provoked, she was willing to accept the challenge.
Yet, though she knew she could win, she was not prepared to gamble her own man. That would be a desecration of Enoch, and of their relationship which was still fragile.
“…Alright,” Fire Fox responded, a bit dazed. She already knew the duel was unnecessary.
The thing she desired was ultimately unattainable.
Gu Shengyin went back to Enoch’s side and turned to address the others who had been left behind for quite some time.
“Everyone, isn’t it time for the test? Let’s make it quick and decisive!”
