A sense of alarm filled her, and a guess began to form in her mind.
Sure enough, a man in a black suit had already silently appeared in her room.
Wariness was thick in Gu Shengyin’s eyes; she didn’t mind that he had seen Angela’s true form.
How could anyone who breached the barrier of a Six-Winged Angel be ordinary?
"Can you tell me who you really are?"
Gu Shengyin had planned to ask the system directly, but since that night when the man had taken her to that room, the system seemed to have fallen into a slumber, unresponsive to her calls ever since.
The man didn’t rush to answer her question but instead stared unblinkingly at her as her wings spread open, suspending her mid-air.
"Very beautiful," he admired.
He opened his arms as if to embrace her.
Shengyin’s body uncontrollably flew towards him, landing in his embrace.
From the depths of her soul, Shengyin didn’t want to resist the man.
It wasn’t the instinct of the body belonging to Angela, but something from deep within her own soul.
"I’ve already answered you last time, I’m your lover," the man held her, his voice filled with a sigh.
"But I really don’t know you," Gu Shengyin frowned. She couldn’t lie to herself; she yearned for his embrace that carried the faint scent of Lotus Fragrance.
Yet she disliked this sensation of being out of control.
"Follow your heart," the man said softly.
The name "Ayin" vibrated through Gu Shengyin’s brain, making her shudder.
"Shh." Suddenly, a finger pressed against her lips, and the man whispered, "Don’t say it out loud; we’ll be detected."
He didn’t specify what would be detected, but Gu Shengyin understood it was the laws that constantly monitored the world.
He knew that she wasn’t Angela.
Gu Shengyin’s eyelashes trembled. Though she had no memories, her heart was filled with joy and contentment.
She didn’t know where this feeling came from but indulged herself in it.
A thought suddenly surged in her heart.
She looked earnestly at the man before her, still with his indifferent and noble demeanor.
"Can you tell me that you love me?" Gu Shengyin stared at him without blinking.
A flicker of surprise crossed the man’s eyes. Even without memories, would she subconsciously act coquettishly towards him?
It seemed he was utterly incapable of refusing her request, he thought helplessly.
The man circled his arms around her waist and caressed the base of Angel’s Wings.
Shengyin couldn’t help but tremble. This was where an angel was most sensitive.
The man gently lowered his head, his hot breath tickling her ear: "I love you..."
The last two words appeared directly in her mind.
Gu Shengyin willingly offered her lips.
She felt like she must be insane. She knew nothing about this man, not even his name.
This dangerous man, her reason told her to be wary, to stay away.
But she couldn’t help it. The longing from the depths of her soul made her irresistibly drawn to him, as if a voice inside her was saying: Don’t be afraid of him, he won’t hurt you.
Gu Shengyin closed her eyes; if this was indeed a dream, she hoped never to wake up again.
