Timeless Assassin Chapter 790

After receiving Leo’s orders, Chaosbringer did not waste a single breath, as within the next hour he boarded a jet enroute to the wider universe, his mind full of countless thoughts that refused to settle.

The faint hum of the craft filled the silence around him, as through the reinforced glass he could see Skyshard City unfold beneath him like an endless plane.

’It’s been... what? A few decades since we started building this City?

I still remember how it wasn’t anything much when I first came here.... But look at it now, it’s the best city in the universe.’

He thought, as the realization struck him with quiet weight, one that was more awe and less nostalgia.

Only a few months had passed in the wider universe, yet for him, decades of service and solitude had gone by, as by now, he had spent as much of his life inside the Time Stilled World, as he had outside.

*Tilt*

*THRUMM*

As the jet aligned with the exit gate, the portal’s runic core began to pulse, its light cascading across the cockpit in soft waves of violet and silver.

*INTENSE VIBRATION*

Chaosbringer sat back in his seat, fingers tightening slightly around the armrest as the engines whirred to full capacity.

*Whummmm*

The gate expanded before him like an opening eye, its swirling light bending and twisting until it became a vast, circular horizon.

And then, in one silent flash, the world inverted.

*Vroooom*

The craft burst through the boundary, and for the first time in many years, Chaosbringer beheld the true night sky, once again.

Before him laid the familiar endless black of the wider universe, disturbed only by the glimmer of distant stars.

"Oh, I had forgotten how beautiful the night sky looked..."

He muttered as he leaned forward instinctively, his breath catching in his throat as the sheer scale of it hit him anew.

The stars seemed sharper now, colder, their distant fire carrying the kind of quiet that no world of slowed time could ever mimic.

’When I last saw these skies,’ he thought, his lips curling faintly in something between nostalgia and disbelief, ’I was a young man still learning how to shapeshift properly.

And now... I’m old enough to feel my bones creak each time I bow.’

He chuckled under his breath, a dry sound that vanished against the hum of the craft.

But beneath that momentary warmth pulsed something else, something sharper and heavier—purpose.

The Lord had given him a task, and not just any task, but one of immense importance.

He was to seek out the Cult God Soron and deliver news of the Cult’s future plans, where they slowly expanded out of the Stilled World, and saved Veyr from the clutches of the Righteous Faction.

’It will be difficult, I need to have this conversation in a way where I neither antagonize God Soron, nor give him any room to reject Lord Leo’s vision.

I need to have a delicate touch, yet ensure I drive my point across.’

Chaosbringer thought, as the navigation screen before him finally flickered to life.

[Target co-ordinates: Planet Ixtal]

The text read, as the old navigation systems came online, and showed the approximate arrival time at 2 hours 56 minutes.

(Meanwhile, on the GalaxyNet Servers)

For the first few hours after Soron killed every living being on Bravaria, no one outside the system even realized what had happened.

The planet’s comms were silent, its defense network dark, and its orbiting satellites offline. No distress signals were sent, no emergency broadcasts hosted, as Bravaria simply turned into a void where a bustling world used to be.

When the first merchant convoys arrived, they expected trade ports and docking lanes to work as usual, but instead they found a dead world.

The air was still.

The lights of the great capital cities were gone.

And in the streets, only bodies laid strewn. Endless bodies.

The merchants sent out frantic calls, their shaky voices barely audible over static as the first recordings began uploading to the GalaxyNet.

Within an hour, every major channel had the footage.

Aerial drone feeds showed the planet from above as Bravaria’s magnificent cities were now lifeless and cold, its plazas filled with corpses lying in perfect stillness, every face frozen mid-gasp, every hand clawing at a throat that would never draw air again.

At first, people over the GalaxyNet refused to believe it.

"What kind of sick edit is this?" one streamer scoffed live to an audience of two million. "Fake as hell. Bravaria’s a fortress world. You don’t just lose that overnight. One would have to destroy a dozen other worlds just to get here..."

Then someone leaked security footage from the planetary archive, and the denial shattered.

It began with a flash, no sound, no shockwave, just the crimson gleam of a god’s fury as the sky twisted inward on itself.

A single light pierced the clouds, followed by a voice that cracked through the static feed like thunder rolling through glass.

"YOU DARE CHAIN MY PEOPLE?"

The video cut out after that, but it didn’t matter. Everyone watching already knew who it was.

Chatrooms went silent for a heartbeat before exploding into chaos.

"It’s him, isn’t it?"

"It’s Soron."

"No fucking way, Bravaria’s gone?"

"He killed them all without a weapon. Without moving."

"He just... looked at them."

The panic spread faster than the moderators could control. Government servers crashed, and emergency news anchors appeared on every Righteous broadcast trying to calm the masses.

"Remain indoors. The Righteous Gods are aware of the situation and are preparing a divine response, the Cult Criminals responsible for this attack will soon be brought to justice." they said in trembling tones that fooled no one.

Because everyone watching the feeds knew the truth: Bravaria hadn’t fallen to an army.

It hadn’t been bombarded or invaded.

It had been erased.

"If he can do that to Bravaria..." someone whispered in a viral stream, their face pale under the screen’s glow, "then he can do it anywhere. Any planet. Any time."

"He doesn’t need ships. He doesn’t need soldiers. He just needs to want you dead."

He reasoned, as goosebumps arose all over his skin, his audience panicking alongside him.

Others tried to laugh it off, clinging to bravado out of sheer terror.

"I say, let him come," one soldier spat on camera, his voice shaking. "We’ve got Gods too."

But his hands were trembling, his eyes darting upward as if Soron might appear in the sky at any moment, as across the Righteous Faction, fear became a living thing—thick, contagious, and impossible to silence.

Because now, every man, woman, and child understood the truth that no government announcement could bury.

If Soron could walk into Bravaria and choke an entire planet to death... then no one in the Righteous worlds was safe.
