Minamoto Tamako suddenly realized, but she couldn’t help asking, "If her intelligence is normal, then why is she pretending to be mentally challenged?"
"How would I know!" Fushimi Roku replied irritably.
Minamoto Tamako could only speculate, "Maybe she has some sort of family feud? Many famous people in history pretended to be mad or foolish to avoid retribution!"
After saying this, she asked again, "So how do we figure out if she’s really crazy or just faking?"
This was a bit tricky, after all, no one can wake a person pretending to sleep. Fushimi Roku weighed the matter in his heart for a while and decided to use some ’little tricks’, after all, his own life was on the line, he couldn’t care about anything else.
But he definitely couldn’t let Minamoto Tamako know about it, so Fushimi Roku found an excuse to get her to leave, telling her to go question the hospital doctors—if Uesugi Shion is faking her medical records, the doctor who issued the diagnosis would definitely know.
"I’ll stay here and watch the ward entrance to prevent her from sneaking away."
Fushimi Roku waved his hand and urged, "Go quickly! My life is in your hands now!"
Minamoto Tamako didn’t suspect anything, and she trotted off to harass the head of neurology.
Fushimi Roku looked around, seeing a surveillance camera in the corridor, so he snuck into the men’s restroom to avoid being seen.
He covered his face with a medical mask, took off his trench coat, propped it over a toilet stall, and when no one was around, climbed out the window, pressed against the wall, quickly maneuvered along the windowsill, and moved to Uesugi Shion’s ward window.
The bodyguard noticed someone outside and was about to lock the window, but Fushimi Roku broke in directly through the window. Four or five bodyguards rushed forward in succession, trying to tackle Fushimi Roku.
Fushimi Roku rolled on the ground, picked up a folding stool, and smashed it on the head of the leading bodyguard. The latter fell with a thud, and the remaining bodyguards took out brass knuckles and folding knives, shouting and charging forward.
Fushimi Roku kicked off the wall, leaping into the air, swinging the folding stool, hearing three consecutive clangs as he struck the back of the bodyguards’ heads in the air, and they fell like wheat being cut down.
The last bodyguard tried to call for reinforcements, but Fushimi Roku stepped forward swiftly and knocked the walkie-talkie out of his hand. The bodyguard fell sideways, lunging for the emergency call button, but Fushimi Roku swung the folding stool upward sharply, hitting him in the neck with a crisp crack, likely dislocating it.
The bodyguard’s head tilted, and he collapsed by Uesugi Shion’s bed, sliding to the floor limply.
The shouting and fighting noises alarmed the medical staff, and a nurse hurriedly came to knock on the door, asking what happened. Fushimi Roku tore off the bodyguard’s suit, put it on, opened a crack in the door, blocking the nurse’s view, and imitated the bodyguard’s tone:
"Nothing, Miss Uesugi is a bit uncomfortable again, we’ve already calmed her down."
The nurse tried to remind him of something, but Fushimi Roku directly closed the door, leaving her no choice but to leave.
"Alright, now it’s just you and me left."
Fushimi Roku placed the slightly deformed folding stool flat by the bed, sat down boldly, and took off the mask on his face.
Since Fushimi Roku broke through the window, Uesugi Shion’s eyes hadn’t moved away, her gaze was glued to him.
"I’m going to take off your gag next. If you dare to call for help, I’ll throw you out from the sixth floor."
Fushimi Roku threatened, worried Uesugi Shion wouldn’t understand, he prompted, "If you understand, blink once."
Uesugi Shion didn’t blink, her beautiful eyes stared straight at him.
Fushimi Roku had no choice, he could only get up and remove Uesugi Shion’s gag. Fortunately, Uesugi Shion didn’t scream or shout. Her lips parted slightly, a thin sparkling line remained on the gag.
Then, Fushimi Roku took out a small hourglass, turned it and placed it on the bedside.
"Given the things you’ve done before, I have every reason to put you to torture... now I’m giving you five minutes to defend yourself."
