Mason Nightshade hurriedly ran in, his gaze instantly capturing Aurelia Shaw curled up in a corner of the sofa, his pupils suddenly contracting!
"Sorry, Young Master. Mr. Nightshade insisted on coming in," the assistant said.
The Viscount waved his hand to let the assistant leave, knowing there was no way an average person could stop Mason Nightshade.
Mason Nightshade strode over to Aurelia; the Viscount tried to stop him, but he was already a step too late.
The bottle in Aurelia's hand suddenly slashed toward Mason Nightshade. Despite his skills, the suddenness caught him off guard, and she managed to cut his palm. Crimson blood dripped down his fingers, yet Mason Nightshade's expression did not change. He stopped in place, raised his hands, and gently said to Aurelia, "It's okay, I won't hurt you. Let me come over and check on you, alright?"
Nobody noticed that when Mason Nightshade said this, his voice had a slight tremor at the end.
"It's no use," the Viscount said, lifting his gaze to look at Mason Nightshade's sleeve soaked in blood. Aside from the wound on his palm, the back of his hand was a bloody mess, the wound not yet scabbed over; it was unclear how he got it.
This man was truly in such a sorry state.
Thinking this, the Viscount's anger slightly subsided, although he still couldn't stand the sight of this man as always.
"She won't listen to anyone right now, so stop provoking her."
Mason Nightshade stood stiffly in place, looking at Aurelia, his heart clenched tightly as if a hand were squeezing it, causing piercing pain.
The Viscount sneered, "Back then, when Aurelia was desperately pursuing you, you remained indifferent. Now, what are you pretending for? If something really happened to her, wouldn't you have a perfect excuse to reject her? Mason Nightshade, could it be that you arranged this on purpose?"
Already enraged, Mason Nightshade grabbed the Viscount's collar upon hearing this and slammed him roughly against the wall.
The Viscount, also holding back anger and looking for someone to vent it on, bent his elbow and jabbed it at Mason Nightshade's head, twisting his body to fling Mason Nightshade aside and break free from his grasp. Although Mason Nightshade was more skilled than the Viscount, he was acting in anger, making him easy prey for the Viscount, who staggered back two steps.
The Viscount had long wanted to hit Mason Nightshade. Seeing him off guard, he raised a fist and punched him in the face.
Mason Nightshade staggered back a few steps from the punch, blood seeping from the corner of his mouth, and fury flashed in his eyes. He raised his fist, took a few strides towards the Viscount, and before the Viscount could react, he grabbed his collar and swung his fist down hard—
A very low, very soft voice abruptly echoed, almost like a hallucination if not listened to carefully.
But Mason Nightshade's hand suddenly halted, the fury in his eyes disappeared, and he instantly released the Viscount, stepping quickly in front of Aurelia, kneeling and anxiously looking at her, "I'm here. Does anything hurt? Are you injured anywhere?"
A man who didn't hesitate even a bit during the fight with the Viscount, now had slightly trembling hands.
Aurelia shrank her shoulders back, hiding her head in her knees, not daring to look at him, a weak whisper emerging from her hair, "Viscount."
This time the Viscount heard clearly, stepping forward in a few strides, and squatting in front of Aurelia, "I'm here. Are you feeling unwell? I'll take you to the hospital."
The Viscount rummaged through his pockets for keys, silently pondering: Did Mason Nightshade just stop because he heard Aurelia's voice?
"Take me home," Aurelia said softly.
The Viscount glanced at her and nodded in agreement, "Alright, can you walk by yourself or do you want me to carry you?"
