Aurelia Shaw squinted her eyes like peach blossoms. If she weren't in the acting industry, she'd have been fooled by this man's handsome face. He must have used that actor's face to deceive many people.
"Phone number..." Aurelia tilted her head, thought seriously for a moment, then curved her peach blossom eyes, giving Grayson Quinn a faint, sweet smile. "Let me go ask Mason Nightshade first."
As she said this, Aurelia started to head upstairs. Grayson's expression changed, and he quickly stood up to catch up with her, grabbing her wrist.
"Hey, sis-in-law, there's no need to discuss this with Mason, right? Your phone number is yours, why do you have to ask him about everything?" Grayson began his muddling persuasion. From their interaction this time, she didn't seem like a woman with much scheming. Could the text she sent to Mason last time have been a coincidence?
But whether it was a coincidence or not, he had been tricked before, and he needed to return the favor somehow. Otherwise, if any of his other comrades found out, especially Junia Simpson, they'd definitely die laughing at him behind his back.
"You've been too submissive to him in everything before. Men need to be kept guessing to be devoted to you. I know this well, and I know all about Mason, the women around him, where he's been, what he's thinking. Once you have my contact, you can ask me directly in the future."
Aurelia's eyes lit up as she asked, but the corners of her eyes caught sight of the slender figure standing at the top of the stairs. A sly look flashed in her eyes, and an almost imperceptible smile tugged at the corner of her lips.
Grayson couldn't possibly know that a woman, just an actress, could act well enough to fool him. Without much thought, he nodded "Mm."
"Oh? I've been with several women? Where have I been? What am I thinking?"
A cold voice suddenly rang out.
Grayson's body stiffened. He turned his head to see Mason Nightshade walking over with a sullen face, and his heart trembled.
Did Mason hear everything he said just now?
Suddenly, something felt off to Grayson. He pondered over it carefully for a while, then a light bulb went off in his head. He looked over at Aurelia, only to catch the mischievous glint in her eyes.
Grayson cursed a big dirty word in his heart.
He actually fell for the same person's trick twice!
What a disgrace! It's simply a disgrace!
"I..." Grayson pointed at Aurelia, then at himself, feeling utterly speechless. Aurelia had surely spotted Mason long ago and deliberately dug a hole for him to fall into.
"Mason, your wife's playing dirty!" Grayson wailed.
Mason glanced at him disdainfully, "Why not just admit you're an idiot."
He must be an idiot for arguing with this husband-and-wife duo!
After all this time, hasn't it been clear yet? Mason is just a wife-slave with no bottom line!
"You'll ditch your brothers for a woman. I'm going to go report back to our comrades in the unit. I want to tell those recruits that the whole 'never abandon your comrades' thing is a lie. You abandoned a brother you've been through thick and thin with for years, for your wife."
Mason's expression didn't change one bit. "What are you good for? Being my wife or doing my laundry and cleaning?"
A hint of disdain flickered in his eyes.
"And she can do that?" Grayson gestured with his eyes toward Aurelia.
"I wouldn't make her do those things."
Hearing this, Grayson almost exploded with anger.
Won't let his wife do those things, but he's okay with letting him do them? All these years of brotherhood, comradeship, life-and-death bonds—all gone, all lost to a woman.
