The atmosphere was oppressive.
Amanda Fuller didn't know what happened after the two went to the restroom. The atmosphere was off when they returned.
Aurelia's expression didn't change, but her gaze carried a hint of coldness. Mason Nightshade seemed to have done something wrong and kept placing food in her bowl, watching her expression cautiously.
The latter ignored him completely, dumping all the food he placed in her bowl onto the table.
"I remember Mason has a cleanliness obsession, right? It's not good to put food onto others' plates ," Aurelia said coldly, her lips curling slightly.
Mason, having been rebutted, felt a hint of joy in his heart. She still remembered my habits. Does this mean she hasn't completely forgotten me?
Amanda Fuller saw Mason Nightshade stuff a big bite of chili into his mouth, not feeling spicy at all but rather curving his lips upwards, enjoying it.
She couldn't help but scream internally: Aurelia finally drove Mason crazy!
"I have a cleanliness obsession, but you don't, moreover..." He paused, his lips curving into a charming smile, "My cleanliness obsession is completely ineffective against you."
Aurelia picked out the last piece of meat from her bowl, not throwing it onto the table, but into Mason's bowl, her peach blossom eyes raised, looking defiantly at him, "Who said I don't have a cleanliness obsession? My obsession doesn't affect others, but against you, it's particularly severe!"
Mason's eyes drooped disappointedly, but upon seeing the meat in his bowl, a smile slowly formed on his lips again.
Watching him eat that piece of meat bit by bit like it was cherished treasure, Amanda felt immense sympathy.
Mason really has it tough!
After dinner, Mason's lips were bright red, simply because Aurelia lightly said, "Waste is shameful. Whoever ordered the dish should finish it," Mason then ate all the spicy dishes on the table, not leaving any chili behind.
Mason was picky about his food requirements. Though he's not fussy, Aurelia knew he has high standards for his meals. In the restricted environment of the army, he would eat anything, but when conditions allowed it, like these days after returning, he'd never compromise.
Spicy and heavily seasoned food was not Mason's preference, yet he still ate it all because she said one thing, without saying a word, kept his head down and finished all the dishes.

Amanda stared at the table full of empty plates, swallowing hard, "Mason's appetite sure is good, but... eating so much chili, won't his stomach hurt?"
Her questioning gaze turned to Aurelia, who leisurely sipped her water, as if she hadn't heard Amanda's words. In her heart, though, she knew—fortunately, Mason had a discerning mouth since childhood but was never picky with food, so his stomach was strong, and the dishes weren't overly spicy, nothing would really happen.
After waiting a long time without seeing Mason return, Aurelia and Amanda went to the lobby to find him. As soon as they entered, they saw him standing at the counter with two others, one was Eleanor Spencer, and the other... a woman in her forties, dignified and elegant, with elaborate makeup on her face.
Aurelia immediately recognized her, Cymbeline Jennings, Eleanor Spencer's mother.
Her enchanting peach blossom eyes narrowed.
Walking closer, she heard Mason's polite yet respectful voice, "Aunt Spencer, I apologize for not visiting properly this time. I've already settled the bill for you."
"No need to be polite with Auntie. When you have time, come over and sit with Auntie. Isabel often talks about you, this child keeps no other concerns in her heart, just you, even making us parents jealous," Cymbeline said.
