The morning sunlight streamed through the sheer curtains, illuminating the oversized bed.
Aurelia Shaw pouted slightly, gradually waking up from her slumber.
Her sleeping posture was truly ungraceful. Throughout the night, who knows how many times she rolled around in bed? Mason Nightshade spent the whole night correcting her sleeping position. Whether it was his subtle influence or the comforting presence he exuded, no matter how much she tossed and turned, in the end, she would still end up holding him.
And with Mason Nightshade’s arms trapping her in place, preventing her from moving, Aurelia finally stayed put.
At this moment, feeling the familiar warm breath enveloping her, even with her groggy senses, Aurelia realized this wasn’t her big bear plushie.
Her eyes shot open, and she immediately saw the man’s firm, muscular chest.
Mason Nightshade’s handsome sleeping face was right before her.
Aurelia’s mind went blank; from the corner of her eye, she spotted the big bear plushie that she had been holding before going to sleep last night. Now, it lay pitifully three meters away on the floor, head down.
With a brief contemplation, Aurelia understood the situation.
This man had dared to take advantage of her while she slept by throwing the bear aside!
Thinking of this, Aurelia was furious. She grabbed a pillow and slammed it fiercely onto Mason’s handsome face, yelling, "Mason, you scoundrel!"
Mason was in a deep sleep, getting a heavy blow to his face. He frowned in displeasure.
He had been awakened by enemy gunfire before and had stayed up all night on occasion, but being hit square on the face and cursed as a scoundrel was a first.
He slowly opened his eyes.
He saw a woman’s beautiful face, unadorned, with enchanting eyes wide open, glaring at him full of anger.
Mason smiled, "Honey, what’s wrong?"
"What’s wrong?" Aurelia was even angrier, "That’s what I want to ask you! Last night I clearly hugged the big bear before sleeping. How did it turn into you?"
"Isn’t it your fault?" Mason asked, yawning while rubbing his weary face, "Father-in-law said you slept with no grace, and he wasn’t exaggerating. Last night, you rolled all over the bed and kicked the big bear so far away. I picked it up for you several times, only for you to kick it away again. I intended to wake you and tell you, but who knew, you’d mistake me for the big bear and hug me instead."
"Sigh, I called your name several times, but you wouldn’t wake up, and you even drooled all over me."
This man lied so smoothly, without even blushing.
It was true she was an unruly sleeper.
Could it really have been her who kicked the bear away last night?
Aurelia scratched her head and glanced at Mason’s tired but handsome face, her suspicions about him slowly dissipating.
"If you think I’m such a restless sleeper, disturbing your sleep, we can sleep in separate rooms from now on; I don’t mind," Aurelia said.
She touched the corner of her mouth, and there was actually drool.
Her face flushed red instantly.
"I’m going to wash up." She jumped off the bed, straightening her pajamas as she hurriedly ran to the bathroom.
Luckily, she hadn’t removed her pajamas in her half-asleep state, or... she’d be mortified beyond belief.
Mason Nightshade glanced askance as Aurelia darted into the bathroom, eyes smiling, a glimmer in his gaze. Separate rooms? Then he’d really lose out.
He actually liked this little quirk of his little wife.
Hmm... he always had liked it.
After washing her face and brushing her teeth, Aurelia came out to see Mason holding a photo frame, lost in thought.
