Tan Mo finally understood why they would say something like that.
She would do the same thing too if she could.
Wei Zhiqian suddenly raised his left arm to check his watch. “It’s still quite early. Should we go get me some casual clothes? It’s been quite some time since I last wore something like that. I’m not really sure what to buy. Since we have the time, do you mind picking some out for me?”
Wei Zhiqian said it as if he didn’t have any clothes inside his wardrobe. As he talked, he pulled his necktie loose and unbuttoned the first button on his shirt.
Now that everything covering his long, sexy neck was gone, it was now visible for Tan Mo to see.
She could not help but focus her eyes on his Adam’s apple.
She did a quick comparison in her head and realized that Wei Zhiqian’s neck was quite long.
That was the main reason why he looked amazing in a suit.
If a person had a short neck wore the same suit as Wei Zhiqian, it would make them look like they didn’t have a neck. Even if they had a great well-built body, it still wouldn’t look that great on them.
However, when Wei Zhiqian wore it, he looked clean and amazing.
His tall and straight body complimented the suit really well too.
The suit didn’t look loose either because he had an athlete-like body.
Tan Mo looked at the male students who were around them and could tell that none of them would look as good in a suit as Wei Zhiqian.
“It’s weird walking on the campus wearing a full suit. Everyone’s wearing casual clothes while I’m here in serious attire. It makes me look like I don’t belong here,” Wei Zhiqian explained. “Since I’m off work now, I should dress in something more relaxing.”
The most important reason was that he also realized that if he wore something so formal, it would look like he was Tan Mo’s parent when he walked alongside her.
Tan Mo gasped, not knowing Wei Zhiqian’s real intention. She nodded. “Okay!”
Just like that, they stopped by a mall on their way back to the Tan family’s mansion.
The first floor of the mall had most of the brands that Wei Zhiqian usually wore.
Wei Zhiqian quickly found a parking spot. The two of them walked into the mall together.
They quickly located the store they wanted to buy clothes from and were warmly welcomed by the shop assistant.
“Good evening. What can I help you with?” the shop assistant asked.
Wei Zhiqian let out a weak cough and turned to Tan Mo. “Momo, can you help me choose some?”
“Okay!” Tan Mo was pretty familiar with the store and easily located the casual clothing section.
The shop assistant thought that Wei Zhiqian and Tan Mo wanted to shop by themselves. Thinking that they didn’t want to be disturbed, the shop assistant was about to leave when Wei Zhiqian suddenly opened his mouth.
The man awkwardly fixed his necktie and asked in a low voice, “Can you find me something that young people wear these days?”
The shop assistant was speechless and thought, ‘Why are you acting as if you are going to steal something?’
She noticed that Wei Zhiqian was trying to avoid Tan Mo. Even though she didn’t know why he was acting like that, she still kept the smile on her face.
“Just point me to something that’s simpler and casual. Something that looks young and lively,” Wei Zhiqian added.
“Okay.” The shop assistant nodded.
“Um… How old do you think I am?” Wei Zhiqian suddenly asked.
The shop assistant now had a hard time keeping the smile on her face.
‘What kind of stupid question is that? Do you really think I don’t know who you are? You are Wei Zhiqian!’
However, even though the assistant knew who Wei Zhiqian was, she couldn’t remember how old he was.
She was starting to have a headache because of that.
The shop assistant noticed the suit that Wei Zhiqian was wearing. It was something that made him look like a wealthy and successful businessman.
She couldn’t make up her mind on whether she should answer with an age that showed his maturity or something that showed he still had his youth.
The reason was that Wei Zhiqian mentioned he wanted to find clothes that would make him look younger.
An idea suddenly popped into her mind and she smiled. “I believe you are around 26 or 27, right?”
That was the best answer she could think of. If she replied that he was over 30, then it might make him too mature. If she said that he was around his early 20s, it would sound like he was too immature.
That was why the shop assistant, who was already in her mid-30s, thought that saying he was around his 26 or 27 would be the best answer.
Instead of seeing a smile on the man’s face, he frowned. “Amazing. You’re right. I’m already 27.”
The shop assistant was speechless now.
“That’s why I want something that makes me look like I’m still in my early 20s,” Wei Zhiqian continued to say.
The shop assistant had no idea what to say now.
‘Is there something wrong with being mature?’ That was all the shop assistant could think.
“Uncle!” Tan Mo came back at that time with two short-sleeved T-shirts, two long-sleeved T-shirts, and a pair of jeans in her hands. “Do you think these will suit you?”
Wei Zhiqian took the clothes from her and replied, “I’ll go try them on.”
As Wei Zhiqian changed, Tan Mo waited on the couch outside the changing room.
It didn’t take long for Wei Zhiqian to come out in one of the short-sleeved T-shirts and jeans.
“Hm… You should change your shoes too,” Tan Mo said and turned to the shop assistant to tell her the man’s shoe size.
The shop assistant soon returned with a pair of casual sneakers for Wei Zhiqian.
“Yup! You look better now,” Tan Mo said and rubbed her chin. “But something still seems off…”
After staring at the man for a while, Tan Mo finally snapped her fingers. “I know! It’s your hairstyle! Your hairstyle is too formal!”
Wei Zhiqian had fixed his hair into a slick back hairstyle, which was perfect for his working outfit.
Now that he had changed into a casual outfit, the hairstyle didn’t match.
Wei Zhiqian looked at himself in the mirror and agreed with Tan Mo.
He suddenly turned around and lowered his head to get close to her.
“Can you fix my hair then?” Wei Zhiqian asked, his face only a few inches away from Tan Mo.
She could even feel his breath on her face when he spoke.
Tan Mo was completely dumbfounded.
She didn’t move until Wei Zhiqian asked her to do so, subconsciously reaching her hand out to mess his hair up a little.
Tan Mo had no idea what kind of hairspray Wei Zhiqian had used, but his hair looked fairly stiff.
However, when she reached out to touch his hair, she realized the hair was pliable instead of being needle-like. It wasn’t sticky either. The hair felt soft and smooth to touch.
Tan Mo first moved the hair that was pulled back to the front.
She slowly separated his hair to mess them up a little.
Wei Zhiqian, who was known to be stubborn, was like a quiet little kid now.
A few strands of his hair were now covering half of his eyes.
When he raised his head to smile at Tan Mo, she was stunned, forgetting what she was doing. Her hands stop. One of her fingers touched his left eyebrow.
“How do I look now?” Wei Zhiqian suddenly asked.
“What?”
“How do I look now?” Wei Zhiqian asked again in his clear voice.
“Amazing!” Tan Mo nodded without thinking twice.
