"How was it?"
Ren asked Xiao Rin after she had read the whole screenplay.
"It was like I was reading a novel, the story was pretty similar to it..."
Ren's expressions fell for a second when he heard that. He thought that Xiao Rin didn't liked the screenplay.
"But I really liked it. I think it would be a great drama."
Ren suddenly made a happy smile when he heard that. He was worried for a second but it looked like Xiao Rin liked the screenplay.
"What do you like about it?"
"Ah, I think I liked the main character the most."
Xiao Rin was not saying that because Ren was going to play the role of the main character, it was because she genuinely liked his character.
"What do you like about him?"
"It was his reasons for his actions. He was a person who always regretted his past. I think that many people can relate to it as everyone has some regrets. The reason for his actions was because he wanted to make his life better and save the person he loves. I like that part about him."
Ren nodded his when he heard that. The main character was in a way, similar to Ren.
Both of them have came to the past and were working hard to make their lives better.
Although they know that their actions would probably change the future, they were still going on, just to live a better life.
It was a main reason why Ren was able to play the role of Rei so well. He has a easy time getting into the character as he was too similar with Rei.
"Do you only like the main character? There were many characters in the story, right."
When Ren said that, Xiao Rin flipped through the pages and said as she pointed.
"I also liked the main character's sister."
Ren made a happy expression when he heard that. It was the answer he wanted to hear from her.
"You liked it more than the female lead?"
"Yeah, although the female lead has a bigger role, I think that the role of his sister was also important. She was a character that was always worried for her brother but she never showed it on the surface."
The reason why the sister of the main character has a important role was because of the depth in her character.
She was a sister who was always worried about her brother but she never showed it and acted indifferently towards him just because she wanted the main character to hate her.
It was because she was diagnosed with a heart disease and didn't have much time left to live. She never revealed it to the main character.
She also didn't get admitted into a hospital as both of the siblings were orphans and don't have much money.
By various tactics, she was able to hide her disease from her brother. It was also relatively easy as her brother was a delinquent and often stayed out late.
Throughout the series, she would try to make her brother hate her, so that he didn't miss her much after she has died.
Of course, the main character who had came from the future knows about her disease and will try his best to admit her into a hospital and mend their relationship.
In the whole drama, they both has a bitter sweet relationship.
"Do you really liked the sister?"
Xiao Rin nodded her head repeatedly when Ren asked that question again. She didn't knew why he was asking it again but she really liked the character of the main character's sister.
"What do you think about playing this role in the drama?"
Xiao Rin felt that time has stopped when she heard those words. For a while, she was not able to comprehend what Ren was talking about.
After sometime, she finally opened her mouth and asked.
"Wh-what are you talking about?"
Xiao Rin asked with a shaking voice. She was still in shock by his words.
"I am asking you if you want to play that role in the drama."
"I, I don't know what to say. A role…so suddenly."
"I am not casting you for this role. I don't have that much authority. It will be the producers who will decide it but I am saying that I can help you get an audition."
Ren didn't have the authority to cast someone even if he was the male lead. That would be getting full of himself.
But he can surely help her get an audition.
"Still an audition is a big thing. I don't know if I can do this role."
"Do you think I would have asked you if I was not confident that you would be able to play that role or not."
"Huh?"
Xiao Rin let out a confused voice when she heard that but Ren continued.
"The reason I asked you to play this role was because I was confident that you can play this role really well."
Ren said that with full confidence. He really thought that the little sister role would suit the current Xiao Rin really well.
If it was her future mature version, Ren would have not thought that the role would suit her but her current self was still a girl in puberty, innocent and pure.
He felt that she can play the role really well.
"Bu-but it's too sudden. What if I messed up or something?"
When Ren heard that, he thought of something.
'She still hasn't gotten over her trauma.'
Although the bullying was over now and she was now happily doing what she wanted to do, Xiao Rin still had to get over her trauma.
She was afraid that everything would be over it she didn't met others expectations.
You could even say that her harassment has left a scar in her heart which was hard to cure instantly.
Ren sighed when he thought about that as he said.
"Xiao Rin, I know you are anxious but believe me, you are a great actor. Your acting comes from your heart and nobody can say that you are not a good actor. As for failures, isn't it okay if you failed once."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"Do you think you will get only one chance to prove yourself. No, you will get many more chances. I also failed multiple times and now look at me, I am playing a lead role in a drama."
"It's fine to fail once?"
"Yeah, it's fine and ain't I here for you. Don't worry, even if you failed, I will still hold on to our promise to work together someday."
'You are here for me.'
Xiao Rin didn't knew but that one sentence kept playing out in her mind. She felt a warm feeling when she heard that.
She felt that she could do anything as there was someone there for her.
