Transmigrated as A Farm Girl Making Her Family Rich Chapter 696

Chapter 696: Chapter 478 Visit

“Young Master, the house is so big, will it just be us living here from now on?” Donis felt it quite wasteful that such a large house would only be inhabited by him, the young Master, and the workers, with so many courtyards remaining uninhabited.

In Capital City, where real estate was so expensive, leaving so much space empty seemed like such a waste.

However, the Tang Family was not short of money, and they surely wouldn’t rent out the place. For the master’s safety, they wouldn’t allow random people to live there either.

“In the future, there will be opportunities for companions to stay here during holidays, when classmates come over to visit.”

Tang Shunyan felt too lonely living here by himself, though he had the housekeeper and Attendant Student, but having other little friends to stay with would make it less lonely.

Other little friends might not be able to live here, but they could come and play for a few days and stay temporarily during vacations.

His cousin, Tang Xiyue, would probably live here, and his family might also have arranged a house for him nearby.

He thought it would be nice for the two brothers to live together, but he might do some secret tasks and not include his cousin.

For dinner in the living room, he did not dine alone extravagantly as the master would; instead, he had housekeeper Tang Weixing and Attendant Student Donis sit to his left and right.

He didn’t allow them to refuse because it was convenient to talk this way and also to discuss the night’s plans during the meal.

Tang Shunyan noticed that the dishes on the table were different from those at home, likely because they were prepared by a chef from Capital City, creating different dishes with the same ingredients but with different flavors.

Maybe knowing only that he did not eat very spicy food, the chef dared not add chili peppers and used only pepper, ginger, green onions, garlic, and some sauces for seasoning.

Having not eaten much during lunch, they started eating the fragrant and tasty dishes without any reservation.

Tang Shunyan didn’t start a conversation right away, deciding to fill his stomach first.

While they were eating, the maids they brought with them served at their side.

When most of the meal was finished, Tang Shunyan set down his chopsticks and took a sip of tea the maids brought over before addressing Tang Weixing and Donis, who had not yet put down their chopsticks:

“Prepare yourselves later, tonight we will visit the Ye Family’s sisters.”

Upon hearing the young Master’s instruction, Tang Weixing put down his chopsticks and said, “Young Master, you’ve had a long day. It wouldn’t be too late to visit them tomorrow!”

“Yes, young Master, although the street lights are beautiful at night, we’re here for a long stay. How about we rest first, then venture out to visit?”

Donis followed with his own advice, feeling that the meal was too delicious to resist. It was different from what the previous chefs had made, and with the fresh ingredients, he found it hard to stop eating, not wanting to miss out on any of the dishes set out for the three of them.

There were dishes like roasted duck, and some with names he’d never even heard of, all made with chicken, duck, goose, pork, beef, lamb, and donkey meat—not game.

“There’s no curfew, and I cannot wait until tomorrow; I must visit tonight. Besides, the housekeeper may need to leave tomorrow,” Tang Shunyan replied shaking his head.

Tang Weixing didn’t realize his resolution was so strong; he might have been concerned about the Ye Family’s sisters’ recent circumstances.

Why has he asked for the housekeeper to travel tomorrow?

This was something he needed to clarify, trusting that the young Master would explain the reasons to him.

“Alright, I’ll go get the gifts ready!”

Tang Weixing stood up; now that he was the housekeeper, he had to respect the young Master’s wishes if they weren’t too difficult to fulfill. He didn’t want to start a conflict with the assertive young Master on his first day as the housekeeper.

Good intentions could lead to undesirable outcomes and might fail to earn the master’s favor.

When Tang Weixing spoke of preparing gifts, it was actually the young Master who had already brought some prepared gifts from home.

Now, it was simply a matter of moving the gifts that had just been brought in back out again.

Of course, he didn’t have to do it himself; there were maids to help. The young Master was going to pay a visit, with a carriage and driver prepared for him.

Donis didn’t continue eating and immediately went to the courtyard where the young Master resided to prepare items for the trip.

Tang Shunyan only needed to wait at the front gate. He didn’t have to wait long; everything was ready.

When he boarded the carriage, the experienced driver, possibly familiar with the Capital City, drove confidently to a location specified by the housekeeper.

Sitting beside Tang Shunyan was Donis, and the two didn’t speak to each other, instead looking out through the carriage window at the bustling and prosperous streets of Capital City at night.

Their carriage and horses passed one bustling street after another. Perhaps there are too many establishments in the Capital City that never sleep, including taverns, brothels, and other stores that were still open to customers.

Tang Shunyan observed every passing storefront, a form of market research. If it were night in their countryside, many of these shops would already be closed.

Many homes would also turn off their lights, not like the lively and bright scene here in the Capital City.

The lamplight from the stores shone like streetlights, with colors beyond just red, appearing so beautiful!

Occasionally, music and the sounds of men’s and women’s laughter spilled from some stores, making the night feel like the city never sleeps.

“Young Master, it’s so lively here!” Donis couldn’t help but exclaim.

“Hmm,” Tang Shunyan wasn’t that interested in the liveliness, simply looking outside out of idleness.

As they passed by, he also hoped to truly spot a familiar face.

Tang Weixing on horseback felt a numbness in his legs from riding all day and now had no choice but to heed his master’s orders.

However, as a man, he could endure this little hardship. As a martial artist, no matter how tired he was, he still heightened his vigilance, along with the guards, all were protecting the master’s carriage. Content orıginally comes from 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵·𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖·𝙣𝙚𝙩

The complex population of the Capital City meant they couldn’t let anyone harm them or carelessly offend someone they shouldn’t due to inattentiveness.

They had to be very careful in all they did!

After a short while, they managed to navigate a bit more easily and quickly through the night, arriving at the entrance of the Ye Residence.

When all the carriages and horses had stopped, the gates of the Ye Family were closed.

Tang Shunyan alighted from the carriage, and guards had already gone to knock on the gate.

“Thump, thump, thump, is anyone there?”

Tang Weixing ordered the other guards to help take the gifts out of the carriage.

Tang Shunyan and Donis had also alighted from the carriage and were waiting at the gate.

“Coming, coming. Who is it so late at night?”

A voice could be heard from inside before the door was opened with a “creeak.”

The guard who opened the door didn’t recognize Tang Weixing or Tang Shunyan; the close ties between the two families didn’t mean the soldiers from the General Mansion would recognize them.

“May I ask who you are?”

The guard who had knocked spoke to the one opening the door: “We are here on behalf of the Tang Family’s young Master to visit the Lady of your Ye family.”
