Chapter 41: Execute on the Spot
At the Capital Hospital, Ye Bai finally woke up again.
The last time, after hearing Steven’s report, his blood pressure spiked, and he fainted.
When he came to, it was already the next day.
Even upon waking, Ye Bai’s face lacked any color.
“Boss, you’re finally awake,” Steven said, hurriedly helping him sit up.
“How’s the company doing?”
“It’s fine. The losses have been quickly recovered. We’re just debating whether to move against Xia Shihan,” Steven replied. He had always known Ye Bai’s intentions.
Ye Bai wanted to win over Xia Shihan directly, gaining the support of her group without bloodshed.
Steven had strongly supported this decision before. But from what they could see now, Xia Shihan seemed to be on Lin Tai’s side, possibly even fond of him, which was why she acted against them.
“No need. For the time being, inform everyone to keep a low profile,” Ye Bai said, shaking his head. Deep down, he still couldn’t believe Xia Shihan would fall for a loser like Lin Tai.
“Boss, are we just letting this slide?” Steven felt Ye Bai was being too irrational.
“Of course not. Has the Death Squad returned?” Ye Bai asked further.
“They’re back, currently staying at the Jia Hotel. Should I have them come over?”
“Tell them to send two people to investigate why Xia Shihan is targeting us. Also, have one person shadow Lin Tai to dig up what I want and keep an eye on Hecate.”
“If they find evidence of Hecate’s betrayal, execute her on the spot,” Ye Bai said, a ruthless glint flashing in his eyes.
If she betrayed him, she didn’t deserve to live!
“Understood,” Steven nodded, but for some reason, he felt a chill in his heart.
From the start, Ye Bai had shown a different attitude toward Xia Shihan. Because of her business acumen, no matter how much trouble she caused, Ye Bai never fully committed to dealing with her.

If he didn’t find a way to turn things around, he’d have no chance left.
Although Lu Ziyan had released the video, there was one thing she couldn’t change: the male lead for his debut film was already set to be Ye Bai.
That was something she couldn’t alter alone.

“Any news on the little princess?” Despite being unconscious, Ye Bai hadn’t forgotten about Princess Elizabeth.
“Not yet. Our people are searching, and we’ll give the Queen an answer soon.”
“How’s Abraham’s sister doing?” Ye Bai suddenly asked.
“Uh, she’s doing well. She’s been accepted early by Huaxing University and should be arriving in the capital soon,” Steven said. He had been quietly keeping tabs on Cai Xiaoyan’s movements.
“Good. That’s the least we owe Abraham. I’m not in good shape right now, so you’ll need to look after her.”
“Yes,” Steven nodded quickly, deeply moved, before leaving the ward.
But in the ward, after Steven left, the corners of Ye Bai’s mouth curled slightly upward. He had naturally noticed Steven’s emotional shift.
He admitted that his rush to eliminate Hecate wasn’t just about suspecting her betrayal—it was mainly to cement his absolute dominance, not as pure as it seemed.
Steven was bound to have doubts.
And this was where Cai Xiaoyan came into play.
Under the pretext of looking after Cai Xiaoyan, Ye Bai could make others believe he was deeply loyal to old ties.
