“I’ve changed my taste lately,” Ling Weifeng shook his head. There were plenty of beautiful women, but those who flocked to him were mostly after his money. “Let’s keep drinking.” The two raised their glasses and took a sip.

“I was in the cell next to you in the detention room yesterday. My name’s Zhao Gang.” Zhao Gang casually sat across from Lin Tai, his eyes subtly glancing at Charlotte. Zhao Gang had crafted an identity as a Hong Kong gangster looking for a backer on the mainland.
“Be my underling?” Lin Tai chuckled lightly. “You’ve got good taste in choosing people. Fine, from today on, you’re with me.”
“Thank you, Young Master Lin! Thank you!” Zhao Gang stood up excitedly, bowing repeatedly. He hadn’t expected it to be this easy to succeed. Lin Tai was just as Satan had described—pretty brainless.

“I’ll look into his background,” Ling Weifeng said after Zhao Gang had left the bar. It was better to be cautious with someone who came offering their services out of the blue.
“Don’t worry, he’s definitely just drawn to my charm,” Lin Tai said, though he knew Ling Weifeng wouldn’t find anything. Someone like Zhao Gang, sent to infiltrate, would have made sure his background was airtight. There was no way Ling Weifeng could dig up any dirt.
“…” Ling Weifeng glanced at Lin Tai. In his eyes, Lin Tai was a bit arrogant and lacked caution around people. But Ling Weifeng was different—anyone who got close to Lin Tai had to pass his scrutiny first.
“Let’s keep drinking,” Ling Weifeng said, not dwelling on it. He’d long grown used to Lin Tai’s personality over the years.
“Drink, my ass. I’m going home!” Having completed his part in the plot, Lin Tai had no intention of lingering at the bar.

The two made their way to the parking lot and were about to get into the car when a figure darted out, blocking their path.
“Friend, I’m homeless right now. Can you take me in?” Charlotte stood before them, holding a small suitcase, her face full of innocent pleading.
“No way, not convenient, absolutely not!” Lin Tai immediately shot her down with a triple rejection. He was baffled—what was this heroine up to? She’d even packed her bags. Was she seriously planning to move into his place?
