Transmigrated As An Extra In The Apocalypse Chapter 37

The goblins came at us like a tide, their guttural cries echoing through the dense forest.

For a moment, it felt like the entire world had gone silent, save for the pounding of my heart in my ears.

Steve was the first to fire, his assault rifle unleashing a sharp staccato that cut through the chaos.

The bullets tore into the oncoming wave, dropping a few goblins mid-charge.

The rest of the team followed suit, their weapons lighting up the dim forest with each shot.

I stood back, gripping the straps of the heavy pack on my shoulders.

My gun, Doom, hung at my side, untouched.

Beside me, the black-haired soldier, still as unreadable as ever, remained in the same position, his weapon slung casually over his shoulder.

"You're just gonna stand there?" I asked, my voice low enough not to carry over the gunfire.

He glanced at me, his expression impassive.

"Support role," he said simply, as if that explained everything.

I clenched my jaw, the weight of the situation pressing down on me.

The others were fighting for their lives, and we were just... standing here.

Well it was support role as he said.

The goblins kept coming.

For every one that fell, two more seemed to take its place.

They were relentless, their yellow eyes glowing with bloodlust as they charged through the hail of bullets.

Steve shouted orders, his voice cutting through the noise.

"Keep them at bay! Watch your flanks!"

One of the soldiers, A younger guy who couldn't have been much older than me, was reloading when a goblin broke through the line.

It lunged at him, its jagged blade gleaming in the faint light.

Without thinking, I reached for Doom.

The weapon felt heavy in my hands, its weight a familiar comfort.

I raised it, aimed, and pulled the trigger.

The blast was deafening, a single shot that tore through the goblin and the one behind it.

The recoil jolted my arms, but I held firm, watching as the creatures crumpled to the ground.

The young soldier looked at me, wide-eyed.

"Uh... Thanks," he breathed before returning to the fight.

"Don't mention it," I muttered, shifting my grip on Doom.

The black-haired guy glanced at me, his dark eyes narrowing slightly.

"Guess you're not just standing around after all," he said, his tone devoid of any real emotion.

I ignored him, focusing on the battle.

The goblins were overwhelming us, their numbers seeming endless.

Their shrill cries were like nails on a chalkboard, grating and unrelenting.

"Fall back!" Steve yelled, his voice strained.

The team began to move, retreating slowly while continuing to fire.

The forest was a maze of shadows and shifting light, making it difficult to see where the goblins were coming from.

"Sky!" Steve called, his voice cutting through the chaos. "Cover our rear!"

I nodded, turning to face the oncoming horde.

The goblins were closing in, their numbers seemingly multiplying.

My finger tightened on the trigger as I fired again, the blast from Doom tearing through the closest group.

But it wasn't enough.

For every goblin I took down, more appeared, their grotesque faces twisted into snarls.

My arms ached from the recoil, and my heart was racing.

"How many of these things are there?" one of the soldiers shouted, panic creeping into his voice.

"Too many," Steve replied, his tone grim.

The black-haired guy finally moved, stepping forward and raising his gun.

His first shot was precise, dropping a goblin that was closing in on one of our teammates.

His movements were smooth, calculated, as if he'd done this a thousand times before.

Still, it wasn't enough.

The goblins were relentless, their numbers endless.

They surged forward like a living tide, their cries a cacophony of rage and hunger.

I could feel the weight of the situation pressing down on me, the realization that we were outnumbered and outmatched.

The others were beginning to falter, their movements slowing as exhaustion set in.

Steve barked another order, his voice hoarse.

"Hold the line!"

I gritted my teeth, raising Doom once more.

The weapon felt heavier now, each shot taking more effort than the last.

The goblin horde was closing in, their twisted faces inches away.

I could see the glint of their blades, the gleam of their eyes.

And for the first time, I felt a pang of doubt.

Was this it?

Would we make it out of this alive?

The forest seemed to close in around us, the shadows deepening as the goblins advanced.

The air was thick with the smell of blood and gunpowder, the sounds of the fight echoing through the trees.

We were surrounded, outnumbered, and out of options.

The goblins screamed, their voices rising in a deafening crescendo as they closed in.

And as the tide of creatures surged toward us, I could feel the weight of the moment pressing down on me.

The outcome was uncertain, the odds stacked against us.
