“Fourth sister, when is your reporting date?” Su Wen asked.
“I’m scheduled for September 1st. I can manage on my own. You don’t have to accompany me,” Su Xue replied, drying her hands and standing up.
“Okay. Just remember to meet me tonight. I’ll provide you with your tuition and living expenses in advance. Feel free to spend time with your classmates. If you come across clothes or shoes you like, don’t hesitate to buy them,” Su Wen, the eldest sister, instructed proudly. She wanted her sisters to enjoy life and not worry about expenses.

“You are right,” Su Wen nodded approvingly. Her gaze fell on Su Xue’s patched old clothes with disdain. “Fourth sister, what are you wearing? Why are there still old clothes at home?”
She remembered she had given them all away!

She had hidden her old clothes away, fearing her sister might give them to heighbours for making cloth shoes..
