Transmigrated as the fake young master, I'll beat up the scumbags and b*tches Chapter 178

Rain poured relentlessly as ChaChai’s pistol barrel emitted a faint trail of smoke, quickly washed away by the torrential downpour.

Zhou’s eyes widened in disbelief as he collapsed backward, his blood pooling rapidly across the ground, staining it a vivid crimson. The rain carried the blood in streams, forming rivulets like macabre waterfalls, chilling to behold.

"Dad, what are you doing?!"

Ah Nuo turned to face his father, but the once gentle expression of the man he knew was long gone. Grabbing Ah Nuo by the collar, ChaChai glared at him with a ferocity that burned through the storm.

“What am I doing? If he hadn’t ruined my life, I wouldn’t have had to go this far!”

“You killed someone!”

“Not just him! I killed your parents too!” ChaChai roared, his voice cracking as years of suppressed rage spilled out.

The facade of the kind father shattered. For years, he had endured raising another man’s son—a constant reminder of the woman who had betrayed him.

Ah Nuo froze, his eyes wide, head shaking in denial. He couldn’t comprehend his father’s words. His parents? Killed by the man standing before him? Then who was he, if not this man’s son?

Seeing Ah Nuo’s confusion, ChaChai erupted, unleashing his long-buried anguish.

“You think I cared for you out of love? No! It’s because your heart holds the key to controlling all of Wuyuan Town!”

Rain pelted their faces, mingling with the tears streaking Ah Nuo’s cheeks. His expression contorted in anguish under the oppressive weight of the storm clouds.

He suddenly realized: he was the source of all this tragedy. If he hadn’t existed, the chaos would never have unfolded. His teacher wouldn’t have died. His father wouldn’t have turned into this monstrous figure.

For the first time, Ah Nuo despised his own existence.

“Dad... if I die, will it all end?”

“Die? I won’t let you die. You’re still useful to me. Without you, I can’t escape from here!” ChaChai barked, dragging Ah Nuo away.

But a gunshot cracked through the air, cutting through the storm’s roar.

ChaChai’s arm jerked back as blood spattered from the bullet wound. At the doorway, HuMing stood with his weapon raised, shouting to Ah Nuo,

In his plan, Ah Nuo would shield ChaChai, forcing HuMing to aim for ChaChai’s arm rather than his head. It was a calculated maneuver, buying Ah Nuo a chance to escape.

The plan was perfect—until one actor deviated from the script.

ChaChai instinctively switched the gun to his uninjured hand, aiming at HuMing. But before he could fire, a figure threw itself in front of the barrel.

A mournful cry seemed to echo through the rain. HuMing reflexively fired a second shot, this time aiming at ChaChai’s head. Yet his body froze in place.

Ah Nuo’s abdomen gushed with blood, the rain unable to wash it away fast enough.

Dropping his gun, HuMing sprinted toward Ah Nuo, pressing his hands desperately against the wound. Blood seeped through his fingers, unrelenting.

The rain lashed down harder, as if the heavens themselves were raging.

Ah Nuo reached out, clutching HuMing’s wrist. His trembling voice barely carried over the storm.

“Save... those people. This... it’s my responsibility.”

HuMing’s mind flashed back to ChaChai’s earlier words: Ah Nuo’s heart held the secret formula.

ChaChai had hidden it in the one place no one could find—in the body of a child.

“Can you... see the outside world for me? It’s... my dream.” Ah Nuo’s voice was so faint the rain nearly drowned it out.

With a final glance at ChaChai’s lifeless body, Ah Nuo’s gaze softened. Tears or raindrops, HuMing couldn’t tell, but they fell steadily down Ah Nuo’s face.

HuMing couldn’t save the boy, but he remembered his final words.

No one saw how he steeled himself to cut into Ah Nuo’s chest, extracting the heart that held the formula.

When HuMin found him, HuMing was cradling the bloody organ, letting the rain wash over him.

“HuMing!” HuMin’s voice pierced through the storm.

A familiar voice jolted him awake. HuMing opened his weary eyes, his body feeling as if it were crushed under a thousand tons.

The rain outside continued unabated, but the girl in front of him was looking at him with worry etched on her face.

Kang Xin knelt by the sofa, a cold towel pressed against his forehead.

She gently wiped the tear streaks from his face with delicate fingers.

“You were crying. Did you have a nightmare?”

“Yeah...” HuMing murmured, his mind still muddled.

The next moment, Kang Xin leaned forward, wrapping her arms around him. Resting her head against his chest, she patted his arm softly.

“Rest easy. I’ll always be by your side. No matter how far you go, we’ll always be together.”

Her soothing words lulled HuMing back to sleep. This time, his body relaxed completely.

Kang Xin stared at the hand HuMing had gripped tightly, her gaze lingering on his long lashes.

Outside, the storm raged on, but inside, she quietly counted each lash, over and over.

“HuMing, will you always need me?”

Leaning closer, she studied his sleeping face. Slowly, she lowered herself, her lips pressing against his.

Kang Xin jerked back and touched her lips. Her cheeks flushed. Her eyes remained on his face as she murmured under her breath,

“So... this is a kiss?”
