Transmigrated As The Final Villain of a Death Game Chapter 87

It took us a few hours to arrive, but here we were, standing in front of a giant bastion.

The Ravenheart Empire.

An Empire which hated humans and only housed demi-humans, elves, dwarves, and whoever else was not a human.

Their defenses would have come in really handy during the war against demons.

But instead, the Ravenheart Empire acted as the sole political faction that protected the demons, and then convinced a couple more kingdoms and empires to support them.

When I told that to Clementine, she seemed relieved.

"So it’s best if I get rid of the entire imperial family, then?"

Before I could reply, she said:

"On that note... will there be any trouble if we kill so many bystanders? Aren’t we supposed to be considered assassins?"

"It’s fine. We’ll just report it as collateral."

She nodded back at me and did not ask any more questions.

Instead, she waved at me and floated up a bit higher.

When she went past the clouds, she raised her hand.

In the next instant, a massive silver shield appeared, which covered the whole sky, and it was far bigger than the bastion in front of us.

"Uhh... Clementine? We’re only dealing with the imperials. No one else."

"Don’t worry, I can control my Gift. I found a few of those purple-eyed imperials around the city, and killing them this way would be much easier."

Oh.

A faint smile appeared on her face, and with a single thought, the massive shield descended.

It parted the clouds, and it struck the entire bastion before quickly vanishing into the ground.

It was as if nothing had happened.

But soon enough, imperial after imperial began to fall, their souls erased.

I felt around eleven imperials earlier.

Now, there were zero remaining.

Clementine’s Gift was really scary.

It was much more overpowered than mine.

As I inwardly praised her, I flew up to her and overlooked the bastion.

The soldiers that had guarded the imperials panicked, and even the people ran away, calling for help and or leaving the bastion entirely.

It was scary how effortless wiping out an empire was.

But for the good of the future, they had to go.

I gave the Ravenheart Empire one last look and crossed the name of their imperial prince off my list.

And then, I circled another name which I was going to deal with.

Though at our pace, it looks like we would be able to finish this in less than a day.

***

I glanced at the list in my grasp and crossed out the twenty-fourth name.

There was only one left.

Duke Elmont.

The reason I saved him for last was because he was a military man.

He had one of the most powerful armies on this continent, and he was definitely the most prepared for us.

After all, we had just reached the Elmont territory, and there were already hundreds of soldiers stationed around the main city.

Not only that, there were also several mages flying around in the sky, making sure we would not be able to enter easily through the air.

"They’re pretty well prepared. Should we wipe them all out?"

I shook my head.

"These guys are different. They’ll be useful against the demons, so we only need to deal with Duke Elmont."

Clementine once again did not question my intentions.

"So how do we get in?"

"We just walk in."

I quickly changed my appearance.

Brown hair and plain brown eyes.

Clementine did what I did as well, and since we looked so alike, we could pass off as brother and sister.

So after telling her my plan, the two of us began walking toward the nearby city.

It did not take long for soldiers to spot us and surround us.

"Halt!"

A burly soldier approached us.

"What are the two of you doing out of the city this late?"

"Ah, my sister and I were just out hunting."

I extended my hand, showing some dried blood to the soldier.

"So where’s your game then?"

"We already ate it."

"Uh-huh. I see..."

The soldier was not very thorough.

Though from the dark bags under his eyes, I guessed he might just be a little tired.

"Very well. A couple of my men will escort you back to your home."

"How generous of you."

With that, the soldiers scattered, while three of them led us inside the city.

"Where do you live?"

I let out a chuckle.

"You can just go back to your posts. We want to get a drink first."

The moment I said that, the soldiers halted.

"A drink, you say?"

The three soldiers turned toward me, then placed their palms on the hilts of their swords.

"Two youngsters who went out to hunt in a forest where the only things you can hunt are powerful animals. And every inn is closed after dark. But you would have known that if you truly had been living here."

They fell silent for a brief moment.

But the sound of them unsheathing their swords soon resounded.

"Who are you, and why are you trying to sneak inside Duke Elmont’s land?"

"Is this the part where we do something because our cover is blown?" Clementine asked.

"Mmm... yeah."

The soldiers heard our conversation.

Before they could attack us, I scrambled their brains with my Telekinesis.

However, right as they were about to fall to the ground unconscious, I caught them.

The soldiers once again began walking while I puppeteered the three of them.

I gestured at Clementine to follow them.

After all, I did not want to arouse any suspicion from the flying mages above us.

I continued leading the soldiers and Clementine until finally, I found an abandoned house and made the soldiers drop us off there.

As Clementine and I entered the house, I carefully puppeteered the soldiers around a few houses, and finally, I brought them back to their post.

It was a little bit difficult to control them like this, but even so, when I saw that the mages above had changed shifts, I let go of the soldiers, causing them to fall to the ground.

Then, I nodded at Clementine, who was beside me.

"Let’s quickly look for Duke Elmont."
