How can a working class be able to afford $200,000 without the help of his parents?
“He will still have to have the ability to take out that big of a loan. So what if our daughter has to repay the loan with him? Looking at Xiao Mei next door. There was no house when she got married. But this wasn’t a problem that could be resolved just because one was anxious. Now that Xiuxiu suddenly announced that she has a boyfriend, they started getting worried. They worried that she’d run into a con artist, or that he wouldn’t be nice to her after they have gotten married. All in all, parents would always ben worried about one thing or another.
5 o'clock in the morning, Mother Zhang was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. She told Wu Xiuyue that she would take the kid to school today. Wu Xiuyue was curious too and wanted to go with to talk to Shu Yan.
“That works. You are closer to Shu Yan anyway. Be easier if it comes from you.” Mother Zhang thought about it for a little while and agreed.
Shu Yan wasn’t surprised when she saw Mother Zhang. It’d be more odd if a mother didn’t want to find out more when she found out that her daughter has a boyfriend.
Shu Yan gave it to them straight. She laid out everything that she knew about Chen Fei. They could make their own decision of whether he’s good or not.
“You mean he can really afford a place at Nanfu Mansion?” This issue had been on Mother Zhang’s mind the entire time.
“He told me last time that he can pay cash for a 60 square meter unit. For something bigger than that, he’ll need to take out a small loan. But with his income, he’d be able to pay it off relatively quickly. His height and look are very decent. He’s a little bit on the shy side overall. That has its benefits and its drawback. Good in that he has good temperament and is good at taking care of others. But he also doesn’t have the personality to go too far in his career.” All in all, Chen Fei was an average man to spend one’s life with.
“We don’t need him to go too far in his career. We are all peasants; simple days are fine. Xiuxiu is already 28. Her dad and I worried so much about her that our hair had turned white. Xiuxiu said she wants to take him home to have dinner with us, but we have to at least find out a little bit about him first so I can have an idea.” Mother Zhang had a lot to talk about when it came to her daughter’s relationship.
“That’s reasonable. I am a mother too. I get what you mean.” Shu Yan smiled.
