“Boss Shu, it happened! The orders for the fall sets had gone over the roof! We are going to be rich!” It was Lao Zhang’s very excited voice.
“What do you mean? Calm down first and tell me what has happened?” His wife was that mighty that she was able to open up the City Han market in just a few days?
“Someone from Province Wan placed an order for 20,000 sets. And that was just their first order. He said if all goes well, they would order another 100,000 sets and that they could even pay with cash.” Lao Zhang was grinning so much that his eyes couldn’t even be seen.
He couldn’t remember how many years it had been since he had received a large order. He thought his factory was going to go belly up but, someone, it had made a come back and was doing even better than before.
“Was he over at the factory right now?” Shu Yan hadn’t anticipated someone would come all the way from Province Wan to place orders with them. “He came on his own?”
“He’s checking out our products right now. He was merchandizing at City Han and saw our fall clothing. It so happened that my wife was there so she brought him here directly to check out our products,” said Lao Zhang proudly.
Thinking about how her face was right now, Shu Yan was a bit hesitant. “Now might not be a good time for me.”
“Are you very busy right now? Truth is, we have more or less nailed down all the details and would also be able to take care of the follow ups. But you should be here to sign.” It was a big order. It’s best if they were both present to sign for it.
Shu Yan thought about it a bit and finally said, “Alright, I will be there this afternoon.”
It’d be rude to have on shades and mask when talking to customers but all Shu Yan needed was to go there and sign.
It just occurred to Shu Yan that this was also her first time meeting Lao Zhang’s wife. Luo Zheng’s wife was an elegant and gentle woman. It was hard to imagine that she was a good salesperson, let alone a sale of this size.
“Hi, Boss Shu?” Luo Zheng had told me a lot about you and I have been wanting to meet you. Someone we kept missing each other.” Even Ye Shuqin’s voice was very tender.
“Ah, sister-in-law, no need to be so formal. You can just call me Shu Yan. Is it okay for me to refer to you as sister-in-law?” asked Shu Yan with a smile.
“Of course not. I’ll just call you Shu Yan then.” Ye Shuqin looked at Shu Yan but did not stared at her spots, as though she didn’t notice them at all.
They chatted for a little bit and Shu Yan noticed that she was a very talkative person. She would not let an awkward silence happen or make one felt uncomfortable.
Shu Yan was the one who brought up her spots. Hearing that it was laser spot removal, Ye Shuqin even lamented, “Technology was indeed getting better and better. I saw a boss lady of a boutique shop who had a blepharoplasty last time. It looked so natural.”
“They offer that at the hospital that I went to as well. Many opted for that and others had work done on their nose. I am timid though. The idea of a knife to my face is very intimidating,” said Shu Yan with a smile.
“Your features are pretty and you didn’t need any of those. Speaking of, there’s something I’d like to talk to you about. Our factory’s production is starting to fall behind. Lao Zhang is thinking about having some of his friends’ factories to help out. What are your thoughts?” asked Ye Shuqin, trying to solicit for Shu Yan’s opinion.
As much as they may call this a partnership, but all of the capital came from Shu Yan and their contribution were just the location and labor. Even the customers from City Han’s end were brought in by Shu Yan. They have already gotten the better end of the deal and felt that it was wrong to loop in other factories at this point.
