Shu Yan smiled. She had changed quite a bit and it made sense that Third Brother was shocked.
“Third Brother, this is Feng Zeyu that I have mentioned to you in the past. I brought him with me this time. Yu, this is Third Brother that I have told you about. He is very nice to me and we are closer than real siblings.” Shu Yan introduced the two men.
“Hi.” Feng Zeyu quickly stood up straight and greeted Shu Jianyang respectively when Shu Jianyang looked in his direction.
Everyone who met Feng Zeyu for the first time would be drawn to his scar. Nevertheless, Shu Yan had mentioned to Third Brother the situation with Feng Zeyu before their return to City Xi. As much as Shu Jianyang had been a hooligan in the past, he still had a healthy respect for those who had protected the country. Besides, it didn’t matter if a man has a scar or two on them. He himself had quite a few scars from fights in the past. None of these mattered as long as he was nice to Yanyan.
“You can call me Third Brother just like Yanyan.” Truth was, Feng Zeyu was older than him but he was Shu Yan’s Third Brother. Hah, sucks to be him.
He thought Feng Zeyu might have some opinions on that but he just called him Third Brother without hesitation. That made Shu Jianyang appeared petty.
“Flying is much more convenient. It barely took you any time. I will fly too next time I go to City Nan.” Shu Jianyang changed the subject.
“When are you visiting City Nan with sister-in-law? I will take care of all expenses.” Shu Yan had yet to meet the bride. She was very curious what kind of a woman could tame Shu Jianyang.
Not only was Shu Jianyang in the construction industry but he had also moved into real estate. He had bought a piece of land in an auction this year to build his own houses. He planned to build some ten or so houses at the better location and save one for Shu Yan.
He had yet to move and was still living at the house that was given to him by Shu Yan. It had ben remodeled for the newly weds and they would move to the new house after it was finished.
“You don’t need to save me one. If I need one, I can always buy one myself. Besides, I may not come back to City Xi.” Shu Yan didn’t think she would return to City Xi.
She had two children and they were both City Nan residents now. Chances are they would not return to City Xi either. Besides, she had money. She could always buy herself a place.
“What kind of silly talk was that? This will always be your hometown. People always return to where their root is. When you get older and your children had their own families, of course you would move back.” Suddenly, he said the towering Feng Zeyu next to her. It seemed that Feng Zeyu was a City Nan native. Shu Yan just might not return in her golden years after she married him. That thought bothered him all of a sudden. “I am saving one for you anyway. You will have a place to stay if you return.”
“That works. This is Yanyan’s hometown. I am sure we will visit often in the future. It will be much more convenient to have our own place here.” Feng Zeyu tugged at Shu Yan. Relationship is a two-way street. If Shu Jianyang needed any help in the future, they would be there for him as well.
They had planned to say in a hotel during this trip but the bride-to-be had already had rooms prepared for them.
“We stay on the second floor. The third floor had finished with the re-modeling as well. That’s where Grandpa, Grandma and my parents will stay,” said Shu Jianyang with a smile as he drove.
Shu Yan frowned. “Third Brother, Third Sister-in-law is not aware of my relationship with the family but you know it well. I will pass on staying with Grandma and Grandpa. A hotel nearby will do.”
“Grandma and Grandpa don’t think of you the same way they did in the past anymore.” They feel that Shu Yan made them look good and her status now was just under Shu Jianyang’s.
That wasn’t good either. Shu Yan wasn’t the real Shu Yan. She had no feelings for them. Staying with them would b awkward.
Shu Yan thought about it a little. Shu Yan wasn’t by herself; she had Feng Zeyu with her. It would be awkward for him to stay with them. As such, Shu Jianyang agreed for Shu Yan to stay at a hotel.
