Transmigrated to Another World and Doted on by Everyone! Chapter 198

"Young people shouldn’t push themselves too hard either. Health is your true capital."

"Exactly. In weather this hot, collapsing at such a young age is really suffering."

"Xingyu, are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere now?"

Rong Xingyu obediently shook his head at them and smiled. "I don’t feel uncomfortable anymore."

From what they said, Rong Xingyu learned that he had fainted from heatstroke while working a part time job at noon today and had then been sent to the hospital.

It was just heatstroke.

Why had he subconsciously thought earlier that he had been in a car accident?

However, Rong Xingyu indeed did not feel any physical discomfort.

Rong Xingyu blinked and did not dwell on this trace of doubt.

He remembered now.

It was because school was about to start and the living expenses for his younger brother and sister still had not been scraped together.

So Rong Xingyu had found a part time job by handing out flyers in the university district during his lunch break.

As a result, the sun had been particularly harsh today.

After handing out flyers for only a short while on a road without any shade, Rong Xingyu had gotten heatstroke.

"If the money isn’t enough, let Mom think of a way," Mother Rong tucked the slightly long hair by Rong Xingyu’s ear behind it. "Don’t go do that part-time job anymore, okay?"

Looking at her eldest son, Mother Rong felt as if her heart were being pierced by sharp arrows and bleeding continuously.

Her child was so outstanding, yet so sensible, he already shouldering the burden of the entire family with his still-youthful shoulders.

Rong Xingyu felt his mother’s hands, rough like sandpaper. He knew there was a thick layer of calluses on them.

Being gazed at by his mother with such sorrowful eyes, Rong Xingyu could only nod.

When Rong Xingyu walked out of the hospital, he could not help letting out a sigh.

As for the money, he would think of some other way.

Rong Xingyu took out the old-style phone he had been using for a while from his pocket, intending to tell the shop manager that he would resign from this part-time job.

But after pressing a few keys on the keypad, the phone did not respond.

The small screen remained black.

Rong Xingyu: "Out of battery?"

Forget it. He would go to the shop and tell the manager in person.

Rong Xingyu planned his route. To get from the hospital to the university district, he would have to go around an intersection that he did not usually pass through.

For some reason, before he had even reached it, just seeing that intersection from afar, Rong Xingyu suddenly felt a bout of heart palpitations.

Rong Xingyu’s steps paused and he subconsciously placed a hand over his chest.

Could it be that he had really been too tired lately and something was wrong with his body?

Rong Xingyu shook his head. Seeing that the green light still had more than ten seconds left, it was enough time for him to cross to the other side of the road.

So he quickened his pace and walked toward the opposite side.

When Rong Xingyu reached the other side of the road, the green light there happened to turn red.

A sports car with a somewhat flamboyant design roared past behind Rong Xingyu.

The person in the car rested an arm on the window, seeming to be in high spirits as he let out a whistle.

Rong Xingyu did not turn around.

But even if he had turned around, Rong Xingyu probably would not have recognized it, this sports car was precisely the "culprit" from his previous life that had sent his entire body flying when it hit him.

This time, they merely brushed past each other.

Rong Xingyu finally arrived at the university district.

The milk tea shop manager who had given him the part time job was a young woman who looked to be only in her early twenties.

"Xingyu, are you feeling better?" When the manager saw Rong Xingyu come back, she said in surprise. "Why didn’t you rest a bit longer?"

Rong Xingyu smiled at her. "I’m much better now. Thank you for your concern, sis."

During the days he had been working part time, the manager had always taken good care of Rong Xingyu.

When Rong Xingyu somewhat awkwardly said that he wanted to quit the part time job, the manager readily agreed and settled his wages for the past few days.

However, after Rong Xingyu took the money, he realized that the amount the manager gave him was more than what they had previously agreed upon.

His face flushed slightly. "Sis, did you miscalculate it? Why is there extra..."

The manager waved her hand. "It’s not extra. That includes your commission."

Rong Xingyu: "Commission?" There hadn’t been any mention of commission before, had there?

The manager propped her chin on both hands and looked at Rong Xingyu with a smile. "Didn’t you notice that ever since you started working part time here, our milk tea has been selling much better?"

As she spoke, her gaze drifted intentionally or unintentionally toward the girls sitting in the shop.

The manager did not deliberately lower her voice.

The faces of the few girls sitting closest to them flushed slightly.

They lowered their heads and took big gulps of their milk tea, feeling a little guilty, as if their thoughts had been seen through.

Rong Xingyu, however, clearly did not understand what the manager meant. He blinked his eyes slowly, looking rather dull.

The manager’s gaze returned to Rong Xingyu’s face.

Looking at the pure, delicate looking boy in front of her, the manager could not help but sigh regretfully in her heart.

If she were five or six years younger, she might have fallen for Rong Xingyu as well.

Still, a little gossip wouldn’t hurt.

The manager suddenly leaned closer to Rong Xingyu and lowered her voice as she asked him, "Hey, Xingyu, you’re single right now, aren’t you?"

Judging by how Rong Xingyu looked, he did not seem like someone who would have a girlfriend anyway.
