Transmigrated & Triumphant: Defying Destiny's Chosen One Chapter 6

The fist clenched tightly, yet Chu River was still just a senior student facing a mountain of study tasks.

Being the top in her grade, she still had many privileges.

For instance, when reporting to class, the math teacher merely smiled amiably:

"Come in quickly—we’ll continue, ’if inequality (a+1)x≥a+1...’"

With the college entrance exams only a month away, students no longer needed teachers to push them to study; it was all about self-awareness now.

Chu River found her place in the front row—a 1.7-meter tall, lean student still sitting in the front row, even against the wall corner, proving that in student days, grades meant everything.

While sitting down, she glanced towards the back row, clearly seeing several girls gaze at her with uncertain looks.

Then, a glance at Zhao Yue, the class president across the aisle—focused intently on the blackboard. Feeling her gaze, he turned and smiled, silently passing over a note:

"Little He, does your stomach still hurt?"

Chu River raised her eyebrows, with no sharp spirit between her brows, and casually crumpled the note into a ball.

Zhao Yue paused, then smiled with understanding and guilt, before turning back to take notes.

Such a beloved little class president!

—Little girl, not very old, but quite cunning!

She pondered her evening ambitions, then raised the corners of her lips and calmly sat down.

Looking at the blank test paper on the desk again, her smiling face froze.

—She disliked humanities classes the most!

Thank goodness, nowadays humanities classes weren’t too difficult for Chu River.

Originally, she had already sorted out her memories, reaching almost reflexive levels in solving problems. Naturally, she felt it was no big deal.

Moreover, in the Star Sea Federation era, an individual’s outstanding spiritual power also represented an enhanced memory, comprehension, and reaction ability.

Even though she didn’t like humanities classes, being able to get into military school, thanks to Chang Geng’s long-term urging, was already enough to showcase her talent.

Currently, this math paper in her hand was merely at elementary education’s third-stage level for her.

If not detailing the process, she could arrive at accurate answers even with her eyes closed.

However, the math teacher, whose temples were graying, repeatedly emphasized from the podium:

"Problems you can’t write about should never be left blank, even just writing the word ’solve’ there! And the process, anyone omitting the process on the next exam will be directly deducted points—"

Chu River withdrew her gaze and looked at the test paper, which no longer seemed difficult, unable to resist frowning.

—So, she still needed to go through the textbook again, comprehensively analyze the solving process, right?

She wasn’t a student who could sit still.

Even now with each class only being 45 minutes, far shorter than the three-hour holographic courses, just casually sorting through the processes of two major problems, Chu River’s attention was drawn by the sunlight streaming through the window.

Two fine threads of sunlight fell on the desk, and from the shadowy corners, the flying dust could be clearly seen.

Her spiritual power was itching to move, and she couldn’t help but reach out her jio to poke it, unsure if it was an illusion; even without physical presence, she could still feel the warmth of the sunlight—

Chu River snapped back, with the math teacher unbeknownst to her suddenly at her desk, tapping lightly with her knuckles:

"Don’t lose focus, you missed half a session in the morning, finish the paper."

Chu River felt a headache—the process of solving functions and geometry was just too tedious, too annoying.

The math teacher, after giving instructions, looked down at her blank paper, with two problems already densely filled with answers.

The scholarly-looking teacher with graying temples looked silently for a while, then took the paper:

"Alright, students, put down your pens. Let’s take a look at Chu River’s method of solving this problem, it’s a method even the teacher hadn’t thought of..."

The classmates exclaimed in despair, their eyes glancing back towards Chu River—

The study deity is truly a study deity!

Can’t compete with this!

This problem is too difficult!

minutes of class time flew by, and after class, some rushed to the toilet, while others remained deeply engrossed in solving problems.

Chu River had long put down her pen, now propping up her head and looking towards the back row.

A few girls saw her gaze, their eyes flickering uncertainly.

Finally, the girl at the very edge bit her lower lip, picked up a paper, and walked over to Zhao Yue’s seat beside Chu River.

"Yuanyuan, there’s a question I don’t understand—"

Zhao Yue’s smile was gentle, and the two quickly huddled together, with Chu River not even needing to use spiritual power to hear their whispering clearly.

"Yuanyuan, what should we do? Why isn’t she affected?"

"Will she tell the teacher..."

She was obviously a bit anxious: "If they call parents because of this, how embarrassing! Had I known last night..."

With symbolic pointers on the paper, Zhao Yue spoke softly and gently:

"Stop talking nonsense, what is there to know in advance."

"Besides, what are you afraid of? Is there any evidence?"

Everyone knows she was lying in bed with a stomachache, we were all there, what does it have to do with us?"

"At worst...if you’re afraid she won’t listen, do it again tonight, huh?"

Her tone was lightly confident, successfully dispelling the other’s dissatisfaction and fear.

The ponytailed girl felt much more assured with the class president’s promise.

She stood straight, glancing sinisterly at Chu River, then returned with the paper to her seat.

Chu River still appeared indifferent, leaning against the wall, with her long legs propped on the desk.

A pen was spinning on her index finger, turning nonstop like a black flat circle.

The two boys in the back row were stunned.

"Chu River...have you been possessed? How come you’ve changed so much?"

The study deity Chu River had always been silent and reticent, either deeply engrossed in study or on her way to study, always sitting properly upright.

But now, what was this?

Lively like a carefree big boss.

Yet another boy stared at the still spinning black pen, his eyes eager: ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ novel-fire.net

"How do you do that? Teach me!"

Pen spinning wasn’t a remarkable skill among students, but the problem was, spinning so round on the fingertip, and constantly...

Even in the rocket class of the honors class, not every student was a bookworm.

Chu River spread her five fingers, with the pen instantly dropping into her palm, and she firmly grasped it:

"Yeah, I’ve been possessed."

"Last night my soul departed, and a general from the Great Cosmic Era’s Star Sea Federation Third Guard Satellite, Chu River, has resurrected in me."

She looked at the two bewildered boys in the back, spinning the pen again:

"Want to learn? Come, call me General and let’s hear it."
