Cai Wei purses her lips and asks Nangong Yi, "Hey, have you prepared the black powder I asked for?"
Nangong Yi raises his hand, a guard steps forward, presenting a delicate little box with both hands.
The tiny box is made of sandalwood and intricately carved with flowers. The faint scent of sandalwood does little to suppress the strong smell of gunpowder within. She opens the box, looks at the black powder inside, nods satisfied and sincerely thanks Nangong Yi, "Thank you, I wouldn’t be able to gather all these on my own for who knows how long!"
Nangong Yi laughs, "If Wei’er is thanking me, will you have me over for a New Year’s meal at your house?"
Looking at his devilishly handsome face with a radiant smile, Cai Wei suddenly remembers Cai Ping’s infatuation with him. Surely, if Cai Ping saw him, she would be overjoyed, hilariously embarrassing herself. Thinking of this, she smiles mischievously and cheerfully agrees, "Sure, but we celebrate the New Year with the main family in our household. If you don’t mind, you can join us."
Seeing her mysterious and cunning little fox-like smile, Nangong Yi assumes she must have some sort of cunning idea in mind. However, he doesn’t mind and warmly says, "In that case, I thank Wei’er in advance."
Manager Li immediately chimes in, "I want to go too. Why should you all have a fun-filled New Year’s celebration while I’m alone with a room full of icy faces!"
Cai Wei replies, "Sure, let’s go together!"
And so, a beautiful scene unfolded on the village road of the Mu Family Village.

The woman was also very young, stunningly beautiful. Truly like shining pearls, radiant jade, her skin was snow-white, her eyes clear like a calm lake. Paired with her brocade dress, she was an unparalleled beauty.
The two of them together seemed like a golden boy and jade girl, a perfect match, and exuding an ineffable harmony and beauty. It was as if they were made to be together. If anyone else were to join them, the scene would definitely not be as beautiful!
They were dazzling, like competing bright pearls, causing everyone who saw them to forget what they were supposed to be doing. They would stare blankly at them, watching as they slowly moved closer and then away. Even when they had disappeared, people would still crane their necks, gazing in the direction they departed...
Behind them was a tender little girl of about eleven or twelve, leading a chubby little bun of only about four or five years old. There was also a kind and affable old man of about sixty to seventy years old whose presence was completely overshadowed by the radiant couple...
Cai Wei led Nangong Yi straight to the old mansion of the Mu Family, unceremoniously entering.
